Taehyung, the young heir to the highest vampire aristocracy, glanced over the motley crowd of guests. The elegant attire, the polite whispers, and the glasses filled with thick, dark liquid filled him with undisguised melancholy.

Taehyung was used to getting everything he wanted, and this evening seemed utterly predictable. But his attention was drawn to a dark corner of the room. There, on a carved oak throne, sat Jungkook, an ancient purebred vampire. Another young vampire, his collar slightly disheveled, sat casually on his lap.

Unused to retreating and unfamiliar with the word "no," Taehyung slowly walked toward them. He stopped a step away from the throne, surveying the two of them from his lofty position, and then, without permission, sat down at the table.

"How selfish..." Jungkook said barely audibly, looking up at Taehyung. "You won't even say hello or introduce yourself?"
