Episode 89 — "At the Edge of Adventure" (before the 1 year timeskip)

Brief Chronology

• In Laqua, 6 Hero Pokémon go on a rampage → a violent storm strikes
• The Brave Olivine came to the rescue, but the wind was too strong
• Friede, Charizard, and Captain Pikachu were nearly swept off the ship
• Friede handed Captain Pikachu & his glasses to Liko, saying: "Cap, I'll leave them all to you, okay?"
• Friede & Charizard were thrown into the clouds — lost without a trace

Impact

• Rising Volt Tacklers disbanded, branded as an evil organization by the Explorers
• For 1 year there was no news — everyone thought he was dead
• It turns out he survived, Charizard saved him. He hid because he was being spied on by the enemy.
• Send a secret message 1 month before returning, then return in Episode 121

Poké Ball — Complete

What it is: A round tool for catching and storing Pokémon. Handheld size, shrinks/expands with a button.

Physical characteristics: Red-white ball, central black stripe, white button in the center. When thrown → expands, lights up, attracts Pokémon in and then collapses.

Function: Catch wild Pokémon, store, carry, release to battle. Inside Pokémon is cozy & small.

Main types:

• Poké Ball — base, 1× ratio
• Great Ball — blue-red, 1.5×
• Ultra Ball — black-yellow, 2×
• Master Ball — purple, catch it and it will be 100% successful
• Dusk Ball — more effective at night/cave (3.5×)
• Dive Ball — effective in water (3.5×)
• Quick Ball — effective at the start of the fight
• Heal Ball — restores the status of captured Pokémon

In Horizons: All characters use the standard Paldea design, which can be saved on the Rotom Phone.

Rotom Phone — Complete

What it is: A smartphone controlled by Rotom (the Electric/Ghost Pokémon). It's a living thing, not just a tool.

Physical characteristics: Phone shape, back has Rotom's face (round blue eyes), lightning antenna on top, spines on the bottom. Colors vary (orange, white, etc.). In Horizons, it can extend into a tablet — Pad Forme.

Function:

• ✅ Pokédex — automatic Pokémon scan & data
• ✅ Phone, video call, camera, maps, internet
• ✅ Measure Pokémon height, scan buildings, view habitats
• ✅ Talk & give info — Rotom inside is smart

In Horizons: Liko, Roy, Dot, and all members of the Rising Volt Tacklers have them. The design is the same as in the Scarlet/Violet games.

Short: A living phone containing Rotom, so Pokédex + communication + scanning tool. Could also be a tablet.
