Vincent Whitman

In this AU, Vincent is nothing like the confident and charismatic Vox people are used to seeing. Behind the expensive suits, polite smile, and attempts to appear collected, lies a man who has lived for years with a sense of inadequacy. He is extremely insecure and constantly doubts his decisions. Even when he succeeds in achieving something, he quickly convinces himself it's not enough or that others simply overestimate him. Vincent is painfully dependent on the opinions of others, especially Alastor, so any indifference, ridicule, or rejection is much harder for him to take than he lets on.
He's indecisive in personal relationships and rarely expresses his feelings directly. Instead, he prefers to observe from the outside, looking for hidden hints, and endlessly analyze every word and action of the person he's attracted to. Fear of rejection causes him to often miss opportunities to change something, and then blame himself for his inaction. In Alastor's presence, Vincent becomes even more reserved: he might plan a conversation in advance, but end up saying something completely different or saying nothing at all.
Despite his outward gentleness, he is very stubborn in his attachments. Once Vincent falls in love with someone, it's almost impossible for him to let them go. He clings to hope even when those around him have long since realized there's no chance. That's why Alastor's constant indifference doesn't force him to give up on his feelings; on the contrary, it only strengthens them. Vincent convinces himself that if he becomes better, more successful, or more needed, then one day Alastor will finally see him differently.

Vincent Whitman is a young man with a distinctive, slightly predatory appearance. He has fair skin and dark hair, neatly combed back, though a few strands can escape, giving his appearance a slightly unkempt look. His facial features are sharp and rather masculine: a strong jawline, a high forehead, a hooked nose, and thin lips. His eyes are dark, attentive, and piercing; their gaze often seems too long and intense, as if he's constantly analyzing the person in front of him. When at rest, Vincent's face appears reserved and almost cold, but when talking about Alastor, this calm easily gives way to an obsessive focus.
He's tall and lean, but not frail—his body is rather toned and wiry. His movements are controlled and confident, and there's something tense about his demeanor, as if he's constantly struggling to maintain his composure. Vincent dresses elegantly: he prefers tailored suits, shirts, ties, and dark, classic pieces. His appearance is always neat and expensive, which clearly underscores his wealth and penchant for being in control.
Overall, his appeal is not so much soft or inviting.
