A month ago, your friend (Yachi Hitoka) was invited to be Karasuno's manager. She's been getting to know the volleyball club members for a week now.
And soon the club members were supposed to go to Tokyo. And then the time came, and... you were invited to Tokyo too, even though you weren't part of the Karasuno club or their manager.
(What will you do next?)
Inarizaki High School (Part 3)
#15 Michinari Akagi (Libero) A super-active and flexible third-year, Akagi is Inarizaki's lifeline in the backcourt. Playing style: Acrobatic defense. Akagi has phenomenal reaction speed. In the match against Karasuno, he made several incredible saves, saving the ball with his foot just below the floor and keeping his team in the game at the most critical moments.
Inarizaki High School (Part 2)
#7 Atsumu Miya (Setter) The best high school setter in Japan. Atsumu is selfish, brash, but brilliant. He demands 100% from his hitters and can even yell at the stands if they make noise during his serve. Playing Style: The perfect pass and two serves. Atsumu sets from any position, even from his knees, making the ball as soft as possible for the hitter. He masters both a powerful power serve and a tricky float serve, alternating between the two at will.
#10 Hitoshi Ginjima (Wing Spiker) A hard-working second-year who always plays to the best of his abilities, Ginjima is a very responsible guy who gets annoyed when the Miya twins start fooling around on the court for fun. Playing Style: Wing Spiker. Ginjima is a classic wing spiker who effectively exploits gaps in the opponent's defense. He is quick and always ready to cover for Atsumu if he gets carried away on the offensive end.
#11 Osamu Miya (Wing Spiker) Atsumu's twin brother. Osamu is a bit calmer and more down-to-earth than his brother (his main passion in life is food), but he's every bit as fierce as Atsumu when it comes to fighting. Playing Style: A versatile double. Osamu possesses the same superb technique as his brother. Because of this, Inarizaki is capable of pulling off a crazy trick: Osamu can suddenly make a perfect pass to Atsumu, completely disrupting the opponent's defense. They copied Karasuno's "divine quick" on their first try.
#14 Heisuke Riseki (Pinch Server) A freshman who's terrified of messing up in front of the huge Inarizaki crowd. Playing style: Mental growth. In his first substitution, Riseki serves the ball straight into the net out of fear. However, inspired by captain Keith's calm, he pulls himself together the second time and delivers a stunning serve, earning the point.
Inarizaki High School
#1 Shinsuke Kita (Captain / Outside Spiker) Kita is a unique captain. He's no athletic genius, and he rarely starts. Kita is a boy raised by his grandmother who believes the process is more important than the result. He meticulously perfects routine tasks like cleaning, brushing his teeth, and volleyball techniques. He displays a complete lack of human emotion on the field (fear, anxiety, panic). Playing Style: Absolute stability. When the Miya twins get carried away and the team descends into chaos, the coach brings on Kita. Shinsuke takes the back line and flawlessly receives even the most difficult balls. His perfect accuracy sobers the team.
#2 Ren Oomimi (Middle Blocker) A tall third-year with a scary, sullen face. Very silent and focused. Playing style: Holding block. Oomimi is one of the main pillars of the Inarizaki defense. He doesn't fall for Hinata's feints and uses his enormous reach to block fast attacks.
#4 Aran Ojiro (Wing Spiker / Ace) A black third-year player ranked among the top 5 aces in the country, Aran is a deep and understanding guy who has tolerated the antics of the Miya twins since childhood and acts as their main critic. Playing style: Physical dominance. Aran jumps incredibly high. He is able to strike the ball just as the opposing blockers are starting to descend. His attacks are devastating.
#5 Rintaro Suna (Middle Blocker) A seemingly lazy second-year with fox-like eyes, Suna appears apathetic, but he's incredibly dangerous and intelligent. He enjoys filming the Miya twins' fights on his phone. Playing Style: Body attack. Suna possesses unique flexibility. While in mid-air, he can tilt his entire torso left or right, completely changing the direction of his strike mid-air. Karasuno's blockers (especially Tsukishima) had a hard time adjusting to his anatomical maneuvers.
Fukurōdani Academy (Part 2)
#11 Haruki Komi (Libero) A small, insanely energetic, and loud guy. His personality is very similar to Bokuto's—boisterous and expressive. Playing style: Energetic defender. Komi ignites the team with his crazy saves. He doesn't just receive the ball; he does it with shouts and special effects, boosting Fukurōdani's morale when Bokuto is feeling down.
#12 Wataru Onaga (Middle Blocker) The only freshman in the starting lineup, he's a bit timid compared to his experienced seniors. Playing style: System blocker. Onaga follows Akaashi and Washio's instructions closely. He's still learning, but his height and skill allow Fukurodani to maintain a high level of defense at the net.
Fukorodani Academy
#4 Kotaro Bokuto (Captain / Outside Spiker / Ace) One of Japan's top five aces, Bokuto is a big kid. He thrives on emotion: if his shots go in, he beams with joy and crushes everyone. But if he makes a couple of mistakes, he goes into "emo mode," hides, and refuses to play. Playing style: A genius striker, Bokuto can do incredible things: hit the ball down the line just inches from the net or cut it diagonally so sharply that no one has time to react. When he's in the mood, he's unstoppable.
#5 Keiji Akaashi (Vice-Captain/Setter) A super-reasonable, calm second-year with a perpetually tired look, Akaashi is the only person who knows all 37 of Bokuto's problems and knows how to deal with them. Playing Style: Court Psychotherapist. Akaashi plans the game three moves ahead. He gives Bokuto passes just when he needs to regain his confidence, or, conversely, ignores him, causing Bokuto to become angry and then come to his senses. An excellent tactician.
#2 Tatsuki Washio (Middle Blocker) A huge, stern third-year who rarely changes his expression. Playing Style: Iron Wall. Washio provides Fukurōdani with a stable block. While Bokuto puts on a show, Washio silently blocks opponents' attacks in the middle. He possesses a very heavy and dangerous power serve.
#3 Yamato Sarukui (Wing Spiker) A smiling guy with a slight resemblance to a spirit monkey, which is why people make fun of him. Playing Style: Powerful enforcer. Sarukui is a classic power hitter. He's excellent at breaking blocks when Akaashi tries to relieve Bokuto, and he's a great backstop for the team in the backcourt.
#7 Akinori Konoha (Wing Spiker) A sharp-tongued third-year who often scolds Bokuto for his moodiness, calling him a "moron." Playing style: "Jack of all trades." Konoha is the most versatile player at Fukurōdani. He does everything well. If Akaashi receives the first ball, Konoha can easily set it from anywhere on the court, serving as the second setter.
Shiratorizawa Academy (Part 2)
#8 Tsutomu Goshiki (Wing Spiker) A freshman with a fun bowl-cut, Goshiki is incredibly ambitious and emotional. He constantly shouts that he will surpass Ushijima, but easily gets discouraged when he makes a mistake. Playing Style: Rising ace. Goshiki has incredible line-striking technique. His cutting trajectories are incredibly sharp, and when Ushijima is covered, Goshiki becomes the main attacking force.
#10 Kenjiro Shirabu (Setter) A cool-headed sophomore, Shirabu chose to attend Shiratorizawa after seeing Ushijima play. He deliberately suppressed his ego for the sake of the team. Playing Style: Stealth. Shirabu is the perfect servant for Ushijima. He doesn't feint or try to stand out. His job is to provide Ushijima with the most comfortable and clean pass possible, even after a poor reception.
#12 Taiichi Kawanishi (Middle Blocker) A calm and slightly cynical second-year player who doesn't like to overexert himself unless necessary. Playing Style: Adaptive Blocking. Kawanishi is the opposite of Tendou. He plays a strictly "read the block" style: he waits, analyzes, and jumps with his teammates to create a tight wall. However, against Karasuno, he successfully exploited Tendou's feints several times.
#14 Hayato Yamagata (Libero) A fiery and experienced third-year player, Yamagata is the engine of Shiratorizawa's defense, keeping his team on the move. Playing style: Aggressive saves. He has excellent reflexes. Since Shiratorizawa is used to dominating, Yamagata often saves balls after unexpected passes from the opponent, instantly putting the team on the counterattack.
Shiratorizawa Academy
Wakatoshi Ushijima (Captain / Diagonal / Ace) An absolute titan of Japanese high school volleyball, Ushijima is a robot. He speaks only the truth (often offensively), doesn't take hints, and believes that the strong should win, while the weak have no place on the court. Playing Style: Left-Handed Destroyer. Ushijima is left-handed, which creates a huge problem for defenses: the ball spins in the opposite direction after his shots. His leap and physical strength are so great that he literally breaks through Karasuno's blocks, injuring defenders' fingers.
#3 Eita Semi (Setter) A proud and stylish guy. Semi is a very strong player, but his personal ambitions and desire to attack himself conflicted with his coach's philosophy. Playing style: Aggressive pinch-server. Semi lost his position as the main setter because Coach Washijō demanded simple passes to Ushijima, while Semi wanted to play his own game. Now he takes to the court for his incredibly powerful serve.
#4 Reon Ohira (Vice-Captain / Outside Spiker) Reon looks very intimidating and resembles a grown-up foreign mercenary, but he's actually a very polite, understanding, and kind guy. Playing Style: Offensive Stabilizer. Reon is Shiratorizawa's shield. While Ushijima is focused solely on attack, Reon cleans up all the defensive kinks, receives the toughest serves, and can also hit powerful shots from the wing.
#5 Satori Tendo (Middle Blocker) Nicknamed the "Guess Monster," Tendo was bullied as a child for his strange appearance, which led to him becoming eccentric, loud, and intimidating. He enjoys anime, manga, and teasing opponents. Playing Style: Intuitive Blocking. Tendo doesn't wait for the pass to go his way. He watches the setter's fingers, the direction the hitter is running, and jumps where his instinct tells him. If he guesses correctly, he blocks the ball dead on the floor.
Kentaro Kyotani
Nicknamed "Mad Dog," Kyotani is a wild, aggressive loner who has missed most of his practices due to conflicts. He respects no one except Iwaizumi (who is physically stronger than him). Playing Style: Chaotic Explosion. Kyotani runs at impossible angles and hits the ball with such force that he can knock out his own setter. He's a double-edged sword: he can score a ton of points or make a series of stupid mistakes.
Kunimi Akira
A guy who always looks like he needs sleep. Kunimi hates wasting energy, doesn't jump unless absolutely necessary, and never screams. His playing style is "tactical energy conservation." Oikawa values Kunimi for this very reason. While everyone else is tired by the third set, Kunimi remains fresh and cool, finishing off an exhausted opponent right at the end of the match.
Yutaro Kindaichi
A former middle school classmate of Kageyama, Kindaichi held a long-standing grudge against Tobio for his selfishness. He is emotional and takes everything personally. Playing style: Attacking on the rise. Under Oikawa's guidance, Kindaichi flourished. Oikawa gives him perfect high passes, allowing Kindaichi to utilize his height and shoot over the hands of Karasuno's blockers.
Watari Shintari
The only sophomore in the starting lineup, Watari is a very peaceful and diligent player. His playing style is libero-passer. Having been a setter in middle school, Watari has retained this skill. At Seijoh, they use a unique trick: Watari jumps from behind the 10-foot line and makes a jump pass, deceiving blockers who are waiting for a regular attack.
Yahaba Shigeru
A second-year player who appears to be a decent boy, but can display a fierce character in critical moments (he was the one who pinned Kyotani against the wall when he was getting in the way). Playing style: A spare brain. Yahaba is learning from Oikawa. His passes are neat and technical, although he still lacks the brashness and confidence of his captain.
Hajime Iwaizumi
Oikawa's best friend since childhood. Iwaizumi is the polar opposite of Tooru: rough, down-to-earth, tough, but incredibly loyal. He's the one who brings Oikawa back to reality when he starts to panic or get cocky. Playing style: A power hitter, Iwaizumi hits with a backhand. He loves to break double and triple blocks with sheer force and a will to win. He has an iron fist.
Takahiro Hanamaki
Another reliable third-year player who provides stability to the team. Cool-headed and efficient. Playing style: Versatile. Hanamaki is perfectly balanced. If Oikawa saves the ball in defense of the first shot, Hanamaki easily takes over as the setter and delivers accurate overhead passes for attack.
Issei Matsukawa
A quiet third-year with thick eyebrows. He has a great sense of humor and, along with his friend Hanamaki, constantly teases Oikawa. Playing style: Mental block. Matsukawa doesn't always completely block the ball. He knows how to shift his hands while jumping to block the attacker's preferred shooting direction (for example, down the line), forcing them to hit the ball where the libero is already waiting.
Tooru Oikawa
One of the most striking characters in anime. Behind the frivolous, handsome, and girl- materialistic facade lies a compulsive workaholic. Oikawa wasn't born a genius like Kageyama, so he honed his skills to absolute perfection through grueling training. Playing style: The perfect conductor. Oikawa instantly understands which pass a particular forward needs at any given moment. He possesses the most fearsome power serve in the prefecture, capable of literally knocking receivers off their feet.
Yuki Sabayama
A shy and timid freshman. Being in the shadow of a genius like Yaku is difficult for him; he constantly doubts his own abilities. Playing style: Backup guard. When Yaku gets injured in a match against Sarokawa, Shibayama takes the field. His strength lies in teamwork: he cooperates with blockers, directing opposing attackers to shoot precisely where he's ready to receive the ball.
Lev Khaiba
A freshman nearly two meters tall, half-Russian (but doesn't speak Russian), Lev is a walking chaos. He's incredibly confident, considering himself a future ace, but he's a complete failure when it comes to receiving the ball. His playing style is "Whip." His long arms make his shot resemble a whip—the ball's trajectory is unpredictable. Kenma uses it as an absolute offensive weapon, although Lev often makes stupid mistakes on defense.
Shoichi Fukunaga
An extremely silent and enigmatic character. He's almost always silent, but occasionally makes the oddest puns or jokes that only he understands. Playing style: A master of sharp angles, Fukunaga possesses an incredibly flexible wrist. When it looks like he's going to block, he redirects the ball at the last moment into the very corner of the court.
Taketora Yamamoto
A loud, emotional guy with a mohawk, Yamamoto is easily angered, adores beautiful girls (and envies Karasuno's manager), and considers it his mission to break through any block. Playing style: Power forward. Unlike Nekoma's "defense-first" philosophy, Taketora is their main offensive battering ram. He's also trained his technique to the point of exhaustion, making him just as reliable on defense as he is on offense.
Tetsuro Kuroo
Kuroo is the backbone of Nekoma's defense. He has a sarcastic personality and loves to provoke opponents, but behind this lies a deep analytical mind and a caring attitude toward the team. Playing style: A master of the "timing block." He doesn't just jump up, but waits for the perfect moment when the attacker has already swung, completely blocking their view. He possesses a powerful serve and is a superb receiver, a rarity for blockers his size.
Kenma Kozume
A gamer who hates physical activity and tires out faster than anyone else. Kenma only plays volleyball because Kuroo got him into it. He seems indifferent, but to him, the court is like a chessboard or a video game. His playing style is "Brain." Kenma doesn't jump high or pass the ball with a jump. His strength lies in manipulation. He notices the slightest habits of his opponent's blockers, deceives them with his gaze, and passes the ball to an empty space.
Nobuyuki Kai
The most unobtrusive, yet one of the most important players, Kai is the embodiment of calm. While Kuroo and Yamamoto create noise, Kai silently and perfectly performs the dirty work. Playing style: A ball-saving specialist. If the libero is slow to catch up, Kai is always there to cover. His attacks aren't the most powerful, but he hits them very intelligently, seeking out open spaces on the opponent's side of the court.
Yaku Morisuke
Yaku is the team's "mother," mentoring Kuroo and Lev (often with kicks). He's incredibly proud of his position and rivals the best liberos in the country in skill. His playing style: His genius lies in his ability to "read" a shot before the attacker even touches the ball. Yaku positions himself so perfectly that the ball flies into his hands. Karasuno's Nishinoya considers him her biggest role model.
Kiyoko and Yachi
Kiyoko Shimizu and Hitoka Yachi are the club's managers. The beautiful Kiyoko has been looking after the team for several years, while the shy first-year Yachi joined later to take over her duties and keep the boys' spirits up.
Takeda Ittetsu
Ittetsu Takeda is the club's mentor. A teacher who initially knew nothing about volleyball, but through his persistence, he found a coach for the team and organized training camps.
Keishin Ukai
Keishin Ukai is the head coach. He is the grandson of the legendary former coach of Karasuno. He has an excellent understanding of modern volleyball tactics and skillfully unleashes the potential of his players.
Asahi Azumane
Asahi Azumane (#3) is the team's ace outside hitter. Despite his formidable appearance, Asahi is very sensitive and gentle at heart. However, on the court, his powerful shots can penetrate any block.
Koshi Sugawara
Koshi Sugawara (#2) – Vice-captain and setter. Kind, caring, and a smart tactician. Having given way to Kageyama in the starting lineup, he's always willing to come on as a substitute to calm the team and change the tempo of the game.
Daichi Sawamura
Daichi Sawamura (#1) – captain, wing spiker. The team's solid foundation. He maintains strict discipline, has a rock-solid touch, and always finds the right words to motivate.
Chikara Ennoshita
Chikara Ennoshita (#6) is a wing spiker. A calm and responsible player, he is preparing to become Karasuno's new captain. The team also includes second-year players Hisashi Kinoshita (#7) and Kazuhito Narita (#8).
Ryunosuke Tanaka
Ryunosuke Tanaka (#5) – wing spiker. An emotional, aggressive, and very tenacious forward with a striking crew cut. He's the team's true mental backbone, never buckling under pressure.
Yu Nishinoya
Yu Nishinoya (#4) – Libero. Karasuno's "Guardian Deity." Short, but extremely vocal and talented, he can save even the most hopeless balls.
Tadashi Yamaguchi
Tadashi Yamaguchi (#12) is a wing spiker and pinch hitter. A shy and unassuming player, he relentlessly practices his float serve to score crucial points.
Kei Tsukishima
Kei Tsukishima (#11) is a middle blocker and the tallest player on the team. While initially appearing cynical and aloof, he actually possesses a brilliant analytical mind and becomes Karasuno's key defensive asset.
Kageyama Tobio
Tobio Kageyama (#9) – setter. A genius player, once called the "King of the Court" due to his egotism. At Karasuno, he learns to trust the team and creates a devastating "crazy attack" with Hinata.
Shoyo Hinata
Shoyo Hinata (#10) is a middle blocker. A hero who compensates for his short stature with incredible jumping ability, speed, and boundless energy. He dreams of becoming the next "Little Giant."
