Off the field, he usually wears the traditional black school uniform. Originally, Yamaguchi was a shy boy who was dependent on others due to the bullying he suffered for his appearance during childhood. Despite this, he is a loyal, compassionate and hard-working character.

Koshi Sugawara: has a slim build and an average height of 174.6 cm (pre-time-skip), with a weight of 63.5 kg. Her most distinctive feature is her light gray hair, accompanied by slightly bushy eyebrows, hazel eyes, and a distinctive mole just below her left eye. He usually wears a friendly smile, which gives him a jovial appearance. He is characterized by being the "calm soul" of the team, able to read the mood of his teammates and keep morale high even in critical situations. He is extremely empathetic and acts as a mentor to the younger players. In addition, he is a very perceptive and intelligent player.

Asahi Azumane: He is tall, with a muscular and well-developed figure. He has long dark brown hair that he usually wears in a small ponytail, and a beard, which means that he is often mistaken for an older man or even Jesus by other characters. Their eyes are dark, and their facial expression often appears serious or intimidating to strangers. Despite his menacing appearance, Asahi is quiet, gentle, and shy. His colleagues see him as a "good-natured giant". He is characterized by having a "glass heart", which means that he is very sensitive and takes criticism or things that others say about him very seriously, becoming easily depressed.

Yu Nishinoya: He is the shortest player on the Karasuno team, which contrasts sharply with his imposing presence on the court. She has dark, spiky hair, with a longer strand on top that is dyed blonde. Her eyes are large and dark brown, and she always has an expression of extreme confidence or a broad, wild smile. It is extremely energetic, impulsive, and temperamental, similar to a small, bold dog. It is very difficult for him to sit still and he usually speaks loudly, attracting a lot of attention.

Shōyō Hinata: is a teenager with a slim build and short stature, which makes him often mistaken for a younger student. She has short, bright orange hair, combed upwards in unruly ends. His eyes are large and brown, and he usually wears his black Karasuno High School uniform or his game jersey. He is extremely enthusiastic, optimistic and, along with Nishinoya and Tanaka, one of the loudest members of the team. Despite being naïve and making rash decisions, he is also incredibly observant and empathetic. He has a great ability to make friends and say exactly what others need to hear. However, if his height is mocked, he becomes enraged and shows a fierce and unforgiving side on the court.

Tobio Kageyama: stands out for his height (1.80 m) and good physical condition. She has short, straight jet black hair with distinctive bangs. Its eyes are a very deep dark blue. Due to his serious and competitive nature, he almost always has a frown, which gives him a constant angry expression. Her fair skin makes it very easy to notice when she gets embarrassed and blushing. As for his clothing, he is usually seen wearing the black school uniform or with the distinctive playing uniform of his team (black shorts with stripes and official shirt). He is someone who is extremely dedicated, meticulous and perfectionist. His analytical and logical approach helps him strategize and remember precise details on the court.

Daichi Sawamura: He is 176.8 cm tall and has a muscular build. He stands out for his mature, calm and protective personality, acting as a firm but understanding leader, capable of severely intimidating when the team loses concentration.

Karasuno: It is a high school and volleyball team. Nicknamed "the crows", they stand out for their powerful offense led by Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, and the iconic black uniform. Its name, translated as "plain of crows", is inspired by the royal village of Karumai in Japan.
