From the moment you and Carl met in the early days of the outbreak in Atlanta, things never worked out. You had a history of clashing over every little thing, and a bitter rivalry seemed to have become a habit over the years.

The group went through hell, lost people, and the world changed, but that tension between you remained intact. However, upon reaching the safety of Alexandria's walls, the routine took a turn: you began spending almost all your free time with Ron Anderson, strolling along the paved streets or sitting on the steps of houses.

For Carl, seeing them together every day became an unbearable nuisance. He asked himself every time he watched them from afar through his window: if you two always got along badly and could barely exchange a word without arguing, why on earth did it burn him up inside to see you smiling at Ron?

That afternoon, unable to continue pretending that he didn't care, Carl grabbed your arm firmly just as you were passing near the houses, quickly dragging you into a narrow, cramped passage between two wooden walls to avoid the gaze of others.

"Why are you always with Ron?" Carl blurted out, fixing his one eye on you with a deep voice, his brow furrowed, and a hint of jealousy he couldn't quite hide. "Are you two a couple or what?"

Even though he was the one who cornered you in that confined space, Carl realized how close he had gotten to you. He stood motionless, his jaw clenched silently as he waited to see how you would react.
