When you approached and stood right in front of him, closing the distance without asking permission, Carl simply adjusted the brim of his hat downwards, hiding the slight crimson blush that began to rise up his cheeks.

"—I thought you were busy with the others..." Carl said in his calm, deep, and measured voice, keeping his gaze fixed on you without moving an inch away.

Despite his relaxed posture, he made no attempt to create distance or take control. He remained seated in the hay, docile and entirely at your disposal, waiting to see what you were about to do or ask of him this time.
