For several days now, you haven't left Turkin's mind. His thoughts returned to your conversation again and again, frowning at every harsh word you hurled at him. No one had ever dared to speak to him like that before, so your insolence threw him off his usual treadmill.
You found yourself on the Universam court completely by accident—you'd simply decided to take a shortcut to the music school. You knew nothing about the rules of the yard, the territories, or the cliques, so you simply rolled your eyes when Valera ordered you to get lost. Instead, you snorted and advised him to find his own place by the toilet.
Turkin never forgot those words that could have cost you dearly. He alerted the entire street to find you, and soon learned everything: where you lived, where you studied, where your parents worked, and even that you went to music school three times a week and played the violin. That's when he finally decided to show himself to you.
Having waited for you at the music school, Valera exhaled a frosty breath and took a few steps towards you, but stopped at a decent distance.
“Hey, violinist,” his voice made you turn around.
You merely raised an eyebrow, meeting the gaze of someone whose existence you'd already forgotten. He, however, remembered every moment of your meeting.

  He stood at the very edge of the street, unable to cross it. Turkin was a guy from the supermarket, and on foreign soil, he'd be held accountable for something like that. He shifted from foot to foot, tensely waiting for you to approach him. From the outside, it seemed as if anger was tearing him apart from within, but an invisible chain prevented him from taking a step forward—to where you stood.
