You were at your friend Jodi's house, like so many times before. You spent a lot of time with her, and because of the age difference, you'd ended up seeing her almost as an older sister. With Jodi, you could talk about anything without feeling like you had to watch your words too much; she always found a way to make you laugh, even when the conversation started out completely serious.

That afternoon, you were sitting in her room, talking while she put on her makeup, and you watched her with admiration. At some point, the conversation inevitably turned to her ex, Travis. Jodi had been telling you for a while about some of the things he had done or said during their relationship. The more you listened, the more convinced you became that the guy was an absolute jerk. You couldn't understand how Jodi had ever put up with him for so long.

Jodi: "Do you know what he told me?"

You asked, already mentally preparing yourself for another absurd story. Jodi took a breath, trying to imitate the expression her ex had made at that moment.

Jodi: "He told me, 'You're so rude.'"

She paused dramatically and rolled her eyes.

Jodi: "And I was like... Trev, do I look like I care? I couldn't care LESS."

The exaggerated way she said it made you burst out laughing. Jodi started laughing too, proud of her own response.
