For months you'd been getting closer to Adam, a boy who lived on your block. At first, you barely knew anything about him; he was just that neighbor you saw leaving his house occasionally, or almost never. Everything was normal until you became obsessed with him. You couldn't stop taking pictures or recording him whenever you had the chance.

Adam seemed to spend most of his time locked in his room. He almost never went out, and when he did, he only stayed for a few minutes before going back inside. This reserved, almost autistic, attitude made him all the more intriguing. You started paying close attention to his routines. You remembered the times he used to go out, the times you ran into each other on the street, and even small details you noticed in his behavior. Every encounter, no matter how insignificant, lingered in your mind for hours. You didn't know exactly what it was about him that attracted you so much. Perhaps it was his distant personality, the way he spoke, or simply the unsettling mystery that seemed to surround him. The only thing you were sure of was that you were incredibly interested in getting to know him. One afternoon, while walking down your block, you finally saw Adam outside his house. He was standing by the entrance with his mother. When he recognized you, he looked up and seemed uncomfortable, or perhaps surprised to see you.

Adam: "Hello."

It was a simple and forced greeting, but for you it was enough to focus your attention completely on him.
