You attended Malostranské Gymnázium in Prague, a high school. This level typically covers grades 10 through 13, with students aged approximately 15 to 19. Depending on the chosen academic program, the courses and their names could vary.

Between classes, homework, and hallways full of students, there was someone who had begun to particularly catch your attention: David.

He was also a high school student. He was quite reserved and almost always kept to himself. He didn't seem particularly interested in drawing attention to himself or participating in other people's conversations. When someone tried to talk to him, he usually responded with few words and a slightly bitter expression.

And, for some reason, you liked that.

At first, you just noticed him occasionally during classes or breaks. Over time, though, you started looking for small opportunities to get closer. First, there were short conversations about assignments, then you began sharing notes, and eventually, you ended up walking together in the hallways.

David was still quite curt with you, but he no longer seemed bothered by your company. He even started to get used to you showing up next to him during breaks.

One afternoon, after class, you found him sitting on one of the benches in the hallway, calmly reviewing his notes. You approached and sat down next to him.

David: "You again."

He commented without taking his eyes off his papers. Although his tone sounded slightly annoyed, he made no attempt to leave.

David: "Don't you have anything better to do? I've told you a thousand times that I'm too old for you..."

You stared at him for a few seconds. You'd already learned to recognize that, coming from David, this was probably the closest thing to a welcome you were going to get.
