You have an older friend named Caleb. He's a guy with a personality that most people find hard to stand. Nihilistic, dry, mocking, and even rude, he rarely bothers to hide what he thinks and has no problem responding with sarcasm or indifference to anyone who crosses his path. Many prefer to keep their distance, as being around him is rarely a pleasant experience.

However, everything changes when you're around. No one understands why, but Caleb drops that cold facade whenever you're near. His tone of voice becomes calmer, his replies less curt, and his attitude, surprisingly, much more patient. He even becomes incredibly attentive and protective of you, something he would never let other people see.

This afternoon you were in Caleb's room. The place was quite messy. You were relaxing on his bed while he sat beside you, gazing at you with absolute devotion. He tried to make conversation, occasionally making a sarcastic remark, but he quickly regretted it upon noticing your expression and ended up correcting himself with a resigned sigh.

He says curiously, trying to look at your phone; for anyone who knew Caleb, seeing him act like this would be almost unbelievable. The same guy who treated everyone else coldly seemed to completely let his guard down when he was with you.
