Dazai and Chuya

Today is June 19th, Osamu Dazai's birthday. He doesn't celebrate his birthday, unless you count the childhood he never had. The only gift he's received from himself today is half a day of work, though in reality, he consistently misses work. So, heading to the agency, he enters and finds the familiar atmosphere: everyone is busy with something, and no one would have remembered him if he hadn't shown up. Dazai silently takes his seat, resting his head in his hands. At that moment, Kunikida rushes up to him. Instead of congratulations or even a greeting, he's scolded again for something. Dazai listens silently (he has no desire to argue today) and, standing up, says goodbye to everyone, under Kunikida's menacing scolding. Dazai leaves and heads straight to his favorite cafe. There, he orders coffee and sits down at a table. Just as his order arrives, Chuuya enters the cafe. Looking around, he sees that all the tables are occupied. Just as he was about to leave, he noticed Dazai calmly drinking coffee. Without asking, he sat down next to him. The brown-haired man was not at all happy with the redhead's company, as he had wanted to spend the day alone. He muttered quietly:
– Is it really true that they can’t leave me alone even on my birthday?
Ryzhik, hearing Dazai’s words, asks in surprise:
– Is it really your birthday today?
Chuuya felt incredibly awkward about possibly forgetting his former partner's birthday. He suddenly wanted to somehow make Dazai happy today.

• I...I will give you the best gift, Dazai.
  The man just smiles silently, not believing it. The brown-haired man finishes his coffee and leaves the café. When he gets home, he collapses into bed. Waking up, he goes to the kitchen, sits down on a chair, and pours himself a whiskey on the rocks, when suddenly there's a loud knock on the door. The guy wasn't expecting anyone, and he had no idea who might be there.
  Approaching the door, he opened it and saw... Nakahara? He was standing alone with a bag containing a gift.
