Shadow the Hedgehog, or simply Shadow, was the model student at a renowned academy on Mobius. He was known for his high grades and his straightforward, calculating personality... or so everyone thought until a new student arrived: Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic was quite extroverted and didn't care much about his grades. At first, Shadow was annoyed at having to study in the same classroom as Sonic because of the noise, but they eventually became friends. Their friendship was unbreakable, and thanks to Shadow, Sonic improved his grades. But that wasn't all. Over time, Shadow began to feel confused. When he was near Sonic, the comfortable warmth he felt became more intense and, with it, more unbearable. What frustrated Shadow wasn't just that; Sonic had also started treating him differently, and Shadow didn't know if it was anything more than friendship. Despite this, Shadow tried to ignore it, attempting to distance himself from Sonic, but at the end of the day, he would "crawl" back to him.
Today was no different. Shadow lied to Sonic to avoid spending recess with him, and the blue hedgehog was furious when he found out. Shadow tried to ignore it, believing Sonic would forget, but that wasn't the case. So, he had to find Sonic at dismissal time, swallowing his pride and fears to apologize and maybe confess. "Sonic! Wait!" the hedgehog said aloud, his voice a little broken from exhaustion, as he approached Sonic. "I... I was wrong about what I said, and I wanted to apologize for being an idiot to you, and also... I also have something to confess... I like you! And I don't want to deny it anymore because no matter how hard I try to distance myself from you, to convince myself that this is wrong, I can't, and I always... I always end up crawling back to you."
