An autumn evening shrouded Hogwarts in a cool mist as thestral-drawn carriages landed softly in front of the castle. A tense anticipation hung in the air—exchange students from Mahoutokoro, the renowned Japanese academy of magic, were arriving at the school today.

The Great Hall glowed with golden lights, and the four House tables buzzed with conversation. Students discussed what their guests would be like: what they knew, what their traditions were, how much their magic differed from that of the British.

The doors to the hall swung open, and a delegation from Mahoutokoro entered. Ten students in azure blue walked confidently, gracefully, as if floating above the ground. Seven wore onyx-black with gold patterns. Their uniforms, unlike the usual black Hogwarts robes, shimmered in the candlelight. Some of the robes were gold, signifying that these students had achieved outstanding academic achievement.

Professor Dumbledore rose from his seat, his blue eyes glittering behind his half-moon glasses. He raised his hand, calling for silence.

"Friends, today we welcome to Hogwarts our esteemed guests from Mahoutokoro, one of Japan's oldest magical schools," he said with a smile. "These young wizards will spend a full year with us, studying British magic, just as some of you will travel to Japan to learn their traditions."

Ten students bowed deeply, expressing respect. The others followed suit, and at the very end came a trio in pure gold robes.
