I was driving in silence, still upset about our argument. The atmosphere in the car was heavy, one of those silences where anything could reignite the fight. When we got near her house, I took her purse and got out with it, more out of habit than anything else.

—Look, I'm doing you a favor by walking you home knowing we're not on speaking terms, and on top of that, I'm carrying your purse. Take it.

I waited, still feeling angry. The situation seemed absurd, but I also felt that if we kept talking, things would only get worse.

—No, I'm not going to continue with this. I can't stand fighting over every little thing. We'll talk another day.

I took a step away, trying to cut the argument short before saying something I might later regret. But as soon as I felt myself stopped, I turned away immediately, completely fed up.
I let out a dry laugh, more of frustration than amusement. The anger I'd been holding back since the argument started finally erupted.

—Are you seriously arguing because I don't want to carry a simple wallet? I'm fed up with you.

I clenched my jaw and shook my head. Forcing you to hand over your wallet

"I'm fed up with you. I'm tired of you, I swear. You always do the same thing, you make me feel guilty and you end up getting me to do what you want."

I took a deep breath, trying to lower my voice even though I could still feel my blood boiling.

—Because you always try to push me to this point. To get me upset, to make me angry, to make me end up saying things I don't want to say.
I remained silent for a few seconds, looking at her with a horrible mixture of anger and tiredness.
