Appearance
Bachira is a young man of slender build, above average height, and oval-shaped face. He has bright yellow eyes and chin-length hair cut short and is black with golden highlights (when Bachira was younger, his hair only reached his ear). When he was in a youth soccer league, he wore the number 8 jersey. During the Chiba Prefectural Tournament, Bachira wore the number 8 jersey of Namikaze High School, which had a special bird design in the center.
In Blue Lock, Bachira wears the standard uniform (black with gray stripes) and a tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore the blue number 8 jersey of Team Z, and during the Second Selection, he wore the number 16 jersey of Team White, which he later changed to red. During the Third Selection, he switched between the black number 7 jersey of Team A and the white and blue number 7 jersey of Team C.
During the match against the Japanese U-20 national team, Bachira wore an official Blue Lock uniform with the number 8, which resembled his jersey on the cover minus the Japanese flag. During the Neoegoist League, Bachira wore the FC Barcelona uniform with the number 8. At the U-20 World Cup, he wore the national team uniform with the number 8.
Personality 1/2
Bachira has a rather eccentric demeanor and personality. He is usually very energetic, cheerful, and enthusiastic during matches, and rarely loses his cool and desire to play, describing soccer as something fun to play with others. Bachira immediately identifies with the also eccentric and energetic Lavinho, and is inspired by his way of playing soccer. He has a tendency to fall asleep at unexpected times, such as when he was sleeping during the Tag match. He mostly falls asleep and ends up relying on Isagi or Kuon to wake him up, and then falls asleep during his team meetings. He is also known to fall asleep during meals. He also tends to appear completely naked after every soccer training and match. When the Neo-Egoist League begins, Bachira takes his soccer training more seriously in an effort to become the world-class egoist he imagines himself to be and get closer to becoming the best in the world. Bachira is now actively training with weights.
Personality 2/2
During his childhood, he was actively bullied because of his eccentric personality and exceptional soccer skills, which terrified him of being alone. This trauma led Bachira to create an imaginary friend who is a "monster"โmore specifically, a soccer monsterโbecause he motivates Bachira and his plays on the field. Only after arriving at Blue Lock does Bachira begin to confront his trauma because he finds people like himself whom he can call friends, such as Yoichi Isagi. Bachira can be seen casually befriending all sorts of people despite his somewhat strange behavior, including Isagi, Rin, Chigiri, and Kunigami.
After the rematch between Isagi's White Team and Rin's Red Team, Bachira overcame his past trauma and resolved to gain more confidence and dominance on the field. He wants to become the best striker in the world, scoring goals only for himself.
Skills 1/2
Archetype
Dribbler: Dribblers are players known for their close ball control, which is used to overcome defenders through sudden changes of direction and acceleration, sometimes combined with great pace. This skill is used to create opportunities for other attackers or to score themselves after breaking through the opposition defense using what is sometimes referred to as "deft moves." One of the great things spectators want to see in football is a player performing a "maze run" with the ball, twisting and turning to avoid opposition tackles, beating multiple players.
Bachira's dribbling technique allows him to break through most defenses and only high-level players can stop him, but it is very rare for him to be robbed of the ball. Team Z relied heavily on his dribbling ability to get the ball upfield during the First Selection. His dribbling can only be rivaled by a handful of players in Blue Lock and, combined with his key passing skill, he has proven to be a much-needed asset on any team. After initial Neo-Selfish League training, Bachira has evolved his dribbling away from proactive dribbling towards more counter-intuitive dribbling, preferring to read his opponent's movements first, maturing in the way he moves around the field.
Skills 2/2
Dribbling and offense: His main weapon is his exceptional dribbling skills. In most situations, he's able to keep the ball at bay while easily evading other players. One of his best demonstrations of this ability is in his match against Isagi, Nagi, Chigiri, and Barou, where he managed to escape from Nagi, Barou, and Chigiri, who had him surrounded even when they tried to foul him. Another example is his match against the Japanese U-20 National Team, where he was able to reach the goal thanks to his excellent dribbling, even evading defender Aiku.
Stylist: His dribbling style is very similar to the Joga Bonito style of Brazil. Every nutmeg, chip, or dribble in general is accompanied by fantastic flair.
Passing: Bachira possesses great passing technique, achieving several assists in his matches, although he left this aside a little after his awakening in his match against Isagi, Nagi, Barou and Chigiri, where he began to make his plays more individual.
Flow State: Flow, as described by Ego, is the state of "total immersion" or "being in the zone." It's the mental state in which a person performing an activity is completely immersed in a feeling of energized concentration, total participation, and enjoyment in the process. Bachira has intentionally and unintentionally entered a flow state on numerous occasions during Blue Lock, even in the First Selection. In this state, he has nutmegged some of Blue Lock's best players and easily bypassed their defense, nearly scoring himself were it not for his opponent's confidence and respect for his ability, which led to the interception.
What is Project Blue Lock?
Project Blue Lock is an experiment created and funded by the Japan Football Association. Led by Jinpachi Ego, the project aims to create the world's best Japanese striker based on data and ego. Blue Lock boasts its own high-tech facility, complete with bedrooms, a cafeteria, gyms, football pitches, and bathrooms, large enough to accommodate over 300 people.
Blue Lock is a cutthroat battle for survival and to be the best. Once you're eliminated, your entire football career can be ruined. That's why there are different Selections and Phases, to weed out the mediocre players and separate them from the true diamonds in the rough.
What was the Neo-Egoist League?
Ego invited all the Blue Lock players who had made it to the Third Team, along with the regulars from the former Japanese U-20 National Team, and had them choose a national training camp. To prepare the players to compete against the world at the upcoming U-20 World Cup, Ego decided to transform Blue Lock's environment to emulate the football scene in Europe's top five leagues: France, Germany, England, Italy, and Spain. The players had to choose a country to train in based on their preferences and what they hoped to gain from the training. Ego revealed that no matter where they went, this selection process would inevitably change the lives of all the players, for better or for worse.
Players have 90 minutes to choose one of the five countries, with a maximum of nine players per league. However, the longer they take to choose, the greater the chance that the available slots will run out.
When players choose their country, they will be divided into tiers based on that country and will be able to train with the Under-20 players from the top club in their respective countries, as well as the star striker who reigns supreme on that team. The teams and star strikers for each country are:
England: Manshine City
Spain: FC Barcelona
Italy: Ubers
France: PXG
Germany: Bastard Mรผnchen
After the initial training session, the head striker will select an 11-man team comprised of players from the club's Under-20 squad or Blue Lock. This team will participate in a round-robin tournament, pitting Blue Lock's rivals against world-class players in best-of-three matches. Following each match, presidents of top clubs worldwide, who were watching the games, will make offers for players they are interested in signing. The value of the offer will determine the players' rankings. Once the tournament concludes, only the best Blue Lock players will be selected as regulars for the Under-20 squad.
