Wade Wilson had a very aggressive terminal cancer. In an attempt to cure himself, he agreed to undergo a clandestine experiment in the "Weapon X" program (the same one that created Wolverine).

What they did to him was:

1. Inject him with a serum: He was injected with a healing factor derived from Wolverine to try to stop the cancer.
2. The Side Effect The serum worked, but in a cruel way: the healing factor began regenerating his cells at an incredible rate, but it failed to cure the cancer completely. As a result, the two began to battle each other inside his body.
3. The result This constant process of cell regeneration and destruction caused his skin to "burn" and become deformed, leaving him with that appearance full of scars all over his body.

It was an extremely painful process, which is why his acerbic humor and jokes are his main defense mechanism.

Mask: Covers his entire face with white eyes that, in comics and movies, change shape to express emotions.

Colors: Red predominates in most of the suit, with black panels on the joints and sides to give it a more tactical look.

Accessories: He usually wears a tactical belt full of pouches (where he keeps his things), sheaths for his katanas on his back and holsters for his pistols on his thighs.

Beneath the suit: Without the mask, Wade Wilson's skin is completely disfigured, covered in scars and burns due to his mutant healing process, which is why he almost never takes off his mask.

Chaotic mentality: His mind is unstable. In comics, this is often depicted as conflicting inner voices that lead him to act impulsively, unpredictably, and violently.
