Inside the Titans, if they speak, no one can hear them except themselves. In Titan form, they can only emit roars, grunts, or similar sounds. The only Titan that can speak is the Cart Titan. Inside the Titans, they are located in the nape of the neck, with various muscles and tissues surrounding the foundation. Also, when they transform back into human form, they have a mark that looks like pinkish/reddish stripes below their eyes.

Reiner was able to transform into a 15-meter Titan referred to as the Armored Titan (鎧の巨人 Yoroi no Kyojin). Reiner used this form to break down the inner gate of Wall Maria and actively used it after he revealed his identity and objective to Eren. As he retained his human intelligence, he used his hand-to-hand combat skills against other human-turned-Titans such as Eren, which in conjunction with his armor-like skin, gave him a solid advantage in combat.

Furthermore, Reiner lost the bottom part of his forearm when it was sliced ​​off by Mikasa, however, he was seen with a complete limb by the time he was in the Titan Forest a couple of hours later. Led in the field by the charismatic and ruthless Floch Forster, the faction orchestrated a coup against the Paradis military high command, employing assassination bombs and contaminating the army with wine containing Zeke's spinal fluid. The Jaegers categorically rejected any attempt at negotiation or the plan to euthanize Zeke, advocating instead the unrestricted activation of the Rumbling for the total destruction of the outside world. They established an authoritarian regime on the island, executing dissidents and persecuting anyone who questioned Eren's leadership, solidifying the slogan "Offer your hearts" under a totalitarian perspective aimed at restoring the New Eldian Empire.

In the fourth season, the Reconnaissance Division underwent a profound military modernization to adapt to combat against modern human armies. The traditional Three-Dimensional Maneuver Gear (3DMG) that used steel blades was replaced and improved into an urban and anti-human combat system. Soldiers began using reinforced black tactical suits, equipped with thrusters tuned for greater speed, semi-automatic pistols and modified cartridges, in addition to the massive use of Thunder Spears, designed to destroy both titan armor and fortified infantry positions. The Colossal Titan, initially under the control of Bertholdt Hoover, excelled in its gigantic size of 60 meters and its ability to unleash massive waves of scalding steam and generate a devastating explosion upon transformation. The Female Titan, controlled by Annie Leonhart, offered extreme mobility, selective hardening capabilities, and the unique ability to attract pure Titans through screams. The Jaw Titan, which was wielded by Marcel Galliard, Ymir, and later Porco Galliard, possesses great agility, sharp claws, and jaws capable of crushing even the most rigid substances. The Cart Titan, commanded by Pieck Finger, stands out for its absurd physical resilience, maintaining its transformation for months and serving as a mobile platform for military artillery. The Beast Titan, led by Zeke Jaeger, possesses simian features and the ability to hurl projectiles long distances with surgical precision, as well as control titans created from its spinal fluid. Finally, the War Hammer Titan, kept secret by the Tybur family and controlled by Willy Tybur's sister, had the ability to create complex structures and weapons from hardened titan matter, operated remotely from a crystallized cocoon.

During the years he lived disguised among the soldiers of Paradis, Reiner developed genuine, affectionate bonds with the members of the Survey Corps, especially with Eren, Armin, Jean, Connie, and Sasha. He was severely injured, having his head partially destroyed by the explosives and losing much of his recent memory. Despite being disoriented, Bertholdt's Colossal Titan temporarily protected him. Reiner managed to recover mid-combat and attempted to attack the division's horses, but was decisively defeated by Hange, Mikasa, and the rest of the squad. On the brink of execution by Hange, he was rescued at the last second by Pieck (the Cart Titan) and Zeke, escaping back to Marley while grieving the irreparable loss of his great friend Bertholdt.

Reiner played a central role in triggering the events of the story. In one of the most poignant moments of the fourth season, upon reuniting with Eren Jaeger in the basement of Liberio shortly before the Attack Titan's attack, Reiner completely breaks down. He kneels before Eren, weeps profusely, and begs to be killed, confessing that he breached the walls not only because of Marleyan indoctrination but also because of his own selfish desire to be seen as a hero. In the fourth season, after the failure of this mission and the loss of the Colossal and Female Titans, Marley finds itself in a fragile position, facing wars against other world powers that have developed weapons capable of rivaling the power of the Titans. Reiner becomes the central figure in keeping Marley standing, while the army plans a desperate counter-offensive to reclaim Paradis before the world militarily overwhelms the power of the Titans.

Reiner's personality in the fourth season is marked by severe depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and overwhelming guilt. He no longer possesses the split persona of the "protective soldier" he created during his days in the Survey Corps to cope with the pain of betraying his friends; instead, what remains is a broken and disillusioned man. Reiner Braun's appearance reflects the weight of traumatic past events and the exhausting duty of a Warrior. Standing at 1.88 meters tall and weighing approximately 83 kg, his physical presence remains impeccable and intimidating, maintaining an extremely muscular build, broad shoulders, and an imposing posture befitting the Armored Titan. However, his face shows deep marks of mental exhaustion: his short blond hair is slightly more disheveled, and he now sports a short, yet clearly visible, beard and goatee, giving him a more mature and worn look. His brown eyes have lost the vivid determination of his childhood and youth, appearing constantly tired, sleepless, and with a vacant stare. He frequently wears the standard Marleyan military uniform or simple civilian clothes from the Liberio internment zone, almost always accompanied by the yellow armband that identifies Eldians. The contrast between his strong, athletic body and his broken facial expression perfectly symbolizes his inner psychological decay.

Reiner is the wielder of the Armored Titan, one of Ymir's nine original forms. His titan is 15 meters tall and is characterized by hardened skin plates resembling golden armor that cover almost his entire body, granting him extraordinary physical resistance against cannon fire, blades, and conventional attacks. The Armored Titan's main combat technique is the brute charge: Reiner can expel excess armor behind his joints (such as his knees) to gain explosive speed and charge into structures or enemies, functioning like a true human commutation. He also demonstrates great skill in hand-to-hand combat and grappling, a result of his extensive military training. However, his armor has weak points, such as unprotected joints and gaps around his eyes and mouth.
