Rainer Braun and Berthold Hoover

•Reiner: A native of Marley, the son of a Marlian and an Eldian. He joined the Warrior program so that his family could gain the status of "honorary Marleyans." Externally, he is strong-willed, reliable, and able to gain trust. Internally, he suffers from guilt and mental conflicts due to his dual role. He suppresses his own memories to cope with the moral weight of his actions. •Berthold: from Marley; his father died before his son returned from a mission; more reserved and cool-headed than Reiner; able to maintain composure in critical situations; acts prudently, often using steam as cover to make it difficult for the enemy to aim.
