Kanako

Kanako is a young, anthropomorphic monster with an athletic, fox-like body, brown fur, and a short snout. Her reddish-brown hair is tied back in a bun with a red ribbon. She wears a small red kimono with large gold embellishments, a gold obi tied at the waist, long gray pants, and short boots. Like her mother, she also wears a piece of red cloth with a gold bell, though in her case, it's wrapped around her neck like a scarf.

We don't see much of Kanako, but from the flashbacks we can deduce that she was brave, caring, and always tried to do what she believed was right. Unknowingly (or perhaps willingly), she risked her life for her parents' experiments, thus demonstrating her courage in all its glory. These traits are also reflected in her parents' personalities: Chujin strives to improve monsters' defenses, and Ceroba, in the pacifist route, acts according to her own judgment when facing you.

Neutral route
If the Neutral Route is activated at the beginning, not much is revealed about Kanako. Activating it through an interrupted Pacifist playthrough (not a Faulty Pacifist) reveals a few more details about Kanako. In either case, only partial information about the Pacifist Route is obtained by choosing this route, as Ceroba has no interest in an impure soul and therefore does not initiate combat.

Pacifist Route
Clover never meets Kanako directly, but she glimpses moments from her past with Ceroba during flashbacks to Ceroba's battle. These flashbacks show Kanako discovering his tapes in the basement sometime after Chujin's death; she then learns of his plans to create the serum. Despite her mother's stern warnings, Kanako eventually convinces her to inject the extract into her SOUL to aid her father's plans, intending to extract the serum afterward. However, Kanako collapses almost immediately after the injection, causing the plan to fail. Kanako is said to have been sent to Alphys's lab when Clover enters the Underground.

Genocide route
Kanako is absent from this route entirely because the only encounter with Ceroba is her battle against the final boss.

Ceroba Ketsukane
Ceroba is Kanako's mother. Kanako seems to have a good relationship with Ceroba, as she trusts her to test Chujin's work and thus fulfill her father's last wish. Ceroba also talks to Clover about Kanako and shows them a picture of her taking a break at the steam plant during the pacifist route. This demonstrates the deep bond they shared as mother and daughter.

Chujin Ketsukane
Chujin is Kanako's father. It is shown that Kanako loved her father very much, as she agrees to let Ceroba test Chujin's work on her, even though he specifically asked her not to have anything to do with it in his final tape for Ceroba. Chujin programmed a custom video game called "Surface Simulator" for Kanako, which can be found in her room by checking the video game console.

Dalv
Although their relationship is never explicitly mentioned, a drawing of Dalv appears in Kanako's room. Furthermore, it is strongly implied that Dalv is the monster Kanako was with during the attack on Snowdin, based on their dialogue during the fight and the drawings depicting Integrity's fate that appear in the Dark Ruins under certain Fun Values.
It is speculated that Kanako was the one who brought the corn to Dalv, however, this is not confirmed.
Starlo
Although their relationship isn't discussed in much detail, Ceroba mentions that she went to the Feisty Five's house and watched "Aerobics 4 Five" videos with Starlo. However, Ceroba stops short before elaborating. As Dina mentions, Kanako liked hanging out with the Feisty Five when Ceroba was in the Wild East.

When Kanako is injected with the extract, her soul turns blue for a moment, because the human who fell before Clover was probably the Integrity/Blue SOUL.
In many ways, Kanako is somewhat similar to Asriel. Both are children of monsters born to important characters in the game who were victims of experiments by real scientists that changed them forever (Kanako received the Chujin serum that caused her to "fall," and Asriel was revived as Flowey by Alphys). Despite being dead, they play a very important role in the Pacifist Route, though not directly in Kanako's case. The sepia effect used for Kanako's photo and the Ketsukane family photo is also used in Asriel's flashbacks with the first human during their battle in the Pacifist Route.
According to Ceroba, Kanako was sent to Dr. Alphys to undergo determination experiments. Kanako then becomes one of the Amalgams that appear in Undertale, specifically the True Lab Amalgam that tucks you in when you rest in an unmade bed. Her theme song, "Tucked In," hints at this connection. This was later confirmed by the developers in a Twitch livestream.
There's a popular meme in the Undertale Yellow fandom where users call Kanako a "can of Coke." This is because "Kanako" and "can of Coke" sound similar. A similar meme exists for Ceroba, where she's called "La Roba" and Chujin, where she's called "El Jin."
