Soul Evans and Maka Albarn (Soul Eater)

Arachne Gorgon is a powerful witch, the older sister of Medusa Gorgon and leader of the Arachnophobia organization. Her relationship with Maka and Soul is essentially one of enmity.
For Maka, Arachne represents a direct threat to the DWMA and the balance of the world. The two find themselves on opposite sides during the conflict between the DWMA and Arachnophobia. Furthermore, because Arachne belongs to the Gorgon family and is involved in research and plans related to madness, Maka has strong reasons to distrust her.
For Soul, the relationship is also hostile. As Maka's partner, he faces the forces of Arachnophobia and the dangers associated with madness. This is especially delicate for Soul because he already carries the Black Blood, making any influence related to insanity particularly dangerous.
Arachne is also important for Maka and Soul's evolution as a duo: the conflicts involving Arachnophobia put their Soul Resonance to the test and require the two to deepen their trust in each other.
Type of relationship: enemy / antagonist.
Maka → Arachne: distrust, opposition, and determination to thwart her plans.
Soul → Arachne: hostility and caution, especially in the face of her manipulations involving madness.
Arachne → Maka and Soul: sees the two primarily as dangerous members of the DWMA and obstacles to Arachnophobia's goals.

Little Demon
The Little Demon exists within Soul's consciousness as a manifestation associated with Black Blood and madness. He frequently appears in a mental environment linked to music and the piano, exploiting Soul's insecurities to try and convince him to accept ever more power.
The relationship is essentially an internal battle. Soul feels the temptation of the power offered by the Black Blood, but seeks to maintain his identity and, above all, his connection with Maka.
This dynamic reinforces one of the fundamental elements of their story: Maka acts as one of Soul's main anchors against madness, while Soul is the Weapon who entrusts his own soul to Maka's hands.

Asura
Asura, the Kishin, represents one of the greatest threats faced by Maka, Soul, and the entire DWMA. His existence spreads the wavelength of madness, jeopardizing the balance of the world.
For Maka and Soul, facing Asura means confronting fear and insanity directly. This is particularly significant for Soul due to the influence of the Black Blood within him.

Blair is a cat with enormous magical powers whom Maka and Soul initially mistake for a witch. After this encounter, Blair begins to live with them and becomes a frequent ally. She has an extremely playful and provocative personality, frequently embarrassing Soul and irritating Maka.
Despite her predominantly comedic role, Blair shows genuine affection for them and helps the group when needed. She doesn't mind or get annoyed at being completely naked in front of Soul, teasing him and leaving Maka embarrassed and angry.

Free
Free is an immortal and an ally of the witches for part of the story. Maka, Soul, and the other students end up facing situations related to him during the conflicts involving Medusa. His enormous resistance and powers make him a particularly difficult opponent.

Eruka Frog
Eruka Frog is a witch initially linked to Medusa's plans. She comes into conflict with the DWMA and, consequently, with Maka, Soul, and their friends. Much of her actions occur because Medusa keeps her under threat and control, making her position more complicated than that of a simply evil enemy.

Medusa Gorgon
Medusa Gorgon is one of Maka and Soul's main enemies. Extremely intelligent, manipulative, and dangerous, she uses other people as instruments for her experiments related to madness and Black Blood.
His relationship with Maka becomes particularly hostile due to the suffering inflicted on Crona. For Soul, Medusa also represents a threat associated with the Black Blood that comes to exist within him.

Ragnarok
Ragnarok is the Demonic Weapon linked to Crona. His personality is aggressive, provocative, and often cruel towards Crona himself. He has a directly hostile relationship with Maka and Soul during their first confrontations.
Ragnarok is also directly linked to a pivotal moment in Soul's life: during the battle against Crona, Soul protects Maka and ends up wounded, allowing the Black Blood to enter his system.

Chrona
Crona has one of the most important relationships with Maka. Initially, he appears as an opponent using Ragnarok, a Demonic Weapon linked to Black Blood. Crona is extremely insecure, isolated, and emotionally fragile, mainly due to Medusa's influence.
Instead of simply seeing Crona as an enemy, Maka tries to understand his soul. This empathy creates a deep connection between the two and allows Crona to experience friendship and acceptance.
Soul is initially more distrustful, especially because the events involving Crona and Ragnarok result in Soul being infected by the Black Blood. Still, over time, Crona becomes part of the inner circle of DWMA students.

Marie Mjolnir
Marie Mjolnir is a Death Scythe and later a teacher at DWMA. She maintains a friendly and protective relationship with her students. Maka and Soul can rely on her as one of the most powerful adult fighters on their side.

Sid Barrett
Sid Barrett is a teacher at DWMA and one of the adults who accompany the students in different situations. Even after becoming a zombie, he continues working for the academy. Maka and Soul know him as a teacher and agent of DWMA, participating in missions and events related to the school's security.

Lord Death
Lord Death (Shinigami-sama) is the founder and director of the DWMA and the father of Death the Kid. Maka and Soul work under his authority as students at the academy.
Despite his often comical appearance and behavior, he is an extremely powerful entity. For Maka and Soul, he represents both the highest authority of the DWMA and the person responsible for sending the students on missions aimed at preventing the emergence of new Kishins.

Franken Stein
Dr. Franken Stein is one of the most powerful teachers at DWMA and a former Meister of Spirit. Stein plays a significant role in the development of Maka and Soul, especially in understanding the wavelengths of souls.
Maka recognizes his immense skill as a Meister, though his unconventional methods can be frightening. Soul also learns a great deal from him. Stein understands the dangers of madness especially well, something that indirectly connects him to the problems Soul faces after his contact with the Black Blood.

Albarn Spirit
Spirit Albarn, also known as Death Scythe, is Maka's father and one of Lord Death's Death Scythes. The relationship between father and daughter is complicated. Spirit deeply loves Maka and desperately desires her approval, but his womanizing behavior and her parents' separation have caused Maka to lose much of her respect for him.
Maka frequently reprimands him or rejects his overly aggressive attempts to get close. Despite this, Spirit genuinely cares for his daughter and is extremely protective when she is in danger.
For Soul, Spirit also represents what he himself aims to achieve: a Demonic Weapon transformed into a Death Scythe.

Kid's weapons are sisters Elizabeth "Liz" Thompson and Patricia "Patty" Thompson, capable of transforming into demonic pistols. Liz is more mature and pragmatic, though easily frightened, while Patty typically displays cheerful, childlike, and unpredictable behavior. They are part of Maka and Soul's circle of friends.

Death the Kid is the son of Lord Death and another important friend and colleague of Maka and Soul. He is an extremely powerful Meister, but his obsession with symmetry often leads to absurd situations. Maka tends to respect his intelligence and combat skills, while Soul and Kid also develop a relationship of friendship and camaraderie.

Tsubaki Nakatsukasa is Black☆Star's partner and one of Maka's closest friends. Her gentle and patient personality often balances Black☆Star's explosive behavior. Maka greatly respects Tsubaki, and the two maintain a much more peaceful friendship than the chaotic relationship between Soul and Black☆Star.

Black☆Star is one of the duo's closest friends and classmates. Extremely loud, competitive, and self-assured, he often contrasts with Maka's more disciplined personality. Soul usually gets along particularly well with him, sharing some moments of irresponsibility and rivalry.

Nocturne had dedicated years to studying the wavelengths of souls. His obsession was to understand Soul Resonance and reproduce it artificially. To carry out his experiments, he captured human souls and separated fragments of their wavelengths.
Their goal was to eliminate the need for compatibility between Meister and Arma.
For him, any soul could be modified until it became compatible with another.
Experiments had destroyed his own soul.
Maka's Soul Perception revealed that Nocturne no longer possessed a stable individual wavelength. His soul was formed from countless stolen fragments, artificially held together by the music produced by his instrument.
When the confrontation began, Soul assumed his scythe form and Maka attempted to establish a Soul Resonance.
Nocturne then revealed his main ability.
The waves produced by the instrument directly interfered with the wavelengths of other people. It was able to cause slight alterations in the spiritual frequency of an Arma or Meister, preventing their souls from remaining perfectly synchronized.
The resonance between Maka and Soul was broken.
Each attempt at synchronization was immediately disrupted.
The situation worsened when Nocturne's wavelength began to stimulate the Black Blood within Soul. Madness attempted to seize that opportunity to penetrate his consciousness once more.
The little demon manifested itself again within Soul's soul.
The power offered by Black Blood could allow him to face Nocturne with much greater strength, but it would also increase the risk of Soul losing control.
Soul rejected this influence.
Maka sensed her partner's instability and focused her own soul on him.

Maka and Soul found a hidden passage in an old train station and began to descend through abandoned tunnels. As they progressed, a piano melody became increasingly noticeable.
The sound affected Soul in a different way.
The Black Blood within him reacted to that frequency. In his consciousness, the influence of madness began to manifest again, awakening the presence of the small demon associated with the Black Blood. The sensation reminded Soul of everything that remained hidden within his own soul: fear, violence, lust for power, and insanity.
Even so, Soul resisted the influence.
His trust in Maka allowed him to keep moving forward.
At the end of the tunnels, the two discovered a huge underground chamber. Hundreds of human souls were trapped inside bell-like metal structures. In the center of the chamber was a gigantic instrument built as a mixture of organ and industrial mechanism.
The person in charge was a man known as Nocturne.

Death City was going through a seemingly peaceful period when the DWMA received disturbing reports from an old industrial city located beyond the areas normally patrolled by students. Several people had disappeared during the night after hearing a mysterious melody echoing through the streets. The missing people left no detectable bodies, traces, or souls.
The unusual nature of the phenomenon caught the attention of the DWMA. Everything pointed to the presence of someone manipulating souls, although the pattern was different from that normally associated with Kishin Eggs or witches.
Maka Albarn and her Demon Weapon, Soul Evans, were sent to investigate.
Upon arriving in the city, they found streets practically abandoned, buildings destroyed, and an atmosphere charged with an extremely disturbing wavelength. Maka used her Soul Perception and initially found no significant presence. However, focusing her ability on the depths of the city, she perceived hundreds of small spiritual signs gathered in the same place.
The origin was below ground.

Personality: Maka is intelligent, disciplined, dedicated to her studies, and possesses a strong sense of justice. She can be stubborn and easily loses her temper with Soul's provocations.
While Soul prefers to appear carefree, Maka usually thinks before acting.
She also possesses a particularly important ability: Soul Perception. Maka can sense and interpret souls, an ability that becomes increasingly powerful as she matures as a Meister.
Despite their frequent arguments, Maka deeply trusts Soul. The duo's true power emerges when they set aside their differences and synchronize their wavelengths.

Appearance: In the image's interpretation, Maka has long, light-colored hair tied in two ponytails, very bright green eyes, and a serene yet determined expression.
She wears a white shirt, a green striped tie, a long black blazer, and a reddish plaid skirt. The uniform retains Maka's characteristic student look, but has a slightly more formal appearance.
Her physique isn't intimidating, especially when compared to some DWMA fighters, but this belies an extremely skilled Meister.

Personality: Soul constantly tries to appear "cool." He hates showing fear or insecurity and usually responds to dangerous situations with sarcasm, teasing, and a confident smile.
Behind that facade, however, Soul is extremely loyal. His partnership with Maka is more important to him than his own safety. When necessary, he puts himself in danger to protect her.
He also possesses great musical sensitivity, something directly related to how he perceives souls and wavelengths. Within his own soul there also exists the disturbing influence of the Black Blood, represented by the figure of the little demon that tries to seduce him with the promise of power.

Appearance: In this image-inspired version, Soul retains his characteristic spiky white hair and reddish eyes, as well as that confident smile that often reveals his sharp teeth. He wears a wide headband with a circular emblem, a heavy black and yellow jacket, and dark reddish pants. His appearance is more urban and rugged, as if his clothes had been adapted for particularly dangerous missions.
Even with the change of attire, her white hair, intense gaze, and carefree expression make Soul instantly recognizable.
