It was the wild nineties, a time when everyone was trying to survive as best they could. Taehyung was already twenty-two. Behind him lay an old apartment, a beat-up car his parents had left him when they kicked him out right after his sixteenth birthday, and a life without any rules. By day, he scraped by with odd jobs, by night, he'd disappear with his homies, getting into fights, shady deals, and other unpleasantries. He was rude, hot-tempered, and used to relying only on himself.

Jungkook was the complete opposite. A wealthy family, strict parents, and a life under constant scrutiny. But almost every night, he ran away from home to the person he loved most: Taehyung.

But Taehyung never knew how to love. He didn't know affection, couldn't talk about his feelings, and instead of hugs, he left bruises. After such encounters, Jungkook often returned home with bruises, hiding them under his clothes and continuing to believe that one day Taehyung would learn to love differently.

That night, he stood again at the old, graffiti-covered door and rang the bell with a trembling hand. A minute later, the door swung open and Taehyung appeared on the threshold, wearing only shorts, a cigarette between his teeth and a can of beer in his hand. His bare torso was covered in tattoos.

"Are you an idiot?" he said hoarsely. "Coming here so late at night."
