All of Beatrix's abilities are granted by her vacuum pack. She can store up to four different objects in it and fire them at will. She has the ability to sprint for short periods, which consumes the pack's energy reserves. She also has access to a flashlight, a radar that points directly at the Ranch House (or the teleporter at the entrance if she is in the Crystal Desert), and a map of her surroundings.

The Hollow Backpack can be upgraded to include a booster that allows for short bursts of flight, as well as a water tank for more effective defense against Tarr. It can also be upgraded to increase health, energy, and storage capacity, and to provide energy efficiency improvements for both the booster and running. Later in the game, Treasure Breakers can be purchased to open Treasure Capsules.

Biography
Although not much is known about Beatrix's personal life before she became a rancher, it becomes clear through starmail that she has someone special on Earth named Casey, who, throughout the game, reveals parts of their history together.

It's mentioned that Beatrix owned a shop, where Casey got her cactus. The context of the starmail suggests the shop had been closed for some time.

Two fan letters, "A Deadly Hike" and "New Year's Eve," suggest that Beatrix has a nature-loving personality. In "A Deadly Hike," it's mentioned that she took outdoor activities very seriously, was well-equipped with a backpack and all the necessary gear, and that after hiking 8 kilometers (5 miles) she still wasn't tired; suggesting that she's also in good physical condition.

In "New Year's Eve", they mention that she told them about one of her trips to Africa, which is discussed in more detail in "Re: Africa".

Beatrix LeBeau is the main character of Slime Rancher, whom the player controls throughout the game. She owns the ranch that formerly belonged to Hobson.

History
The 7Zee Corporation sent Beatrix from Earth to the Far, Far Range in a capsule. This journey lasted a year, which Beatrix spent sleeping as usual. Upon waking, she finds herself on a ranch formerly owned by Hobson Twillgers, where she must earn a living by raising slimes and making money on her own. Thanks to Starmail, Beatrix can stay in touch with other ranch owners who work tirelessly in their gardens.
