Four years have passed since Clementine arrived at Ericson High School with AJ. From day one, she and Mitch couldn't get along. There never took a specific reason; they simply clashed. Every conversation ended in an argument, an insult, or some kind of teasing. If one of them was somewhere, the other would find a way to bother them. Everyone at school was used to hearing their fights.

Mitch was still the same as always: explosive, stubborn, sarcastic, and with very little patience. He always responded with cutting remarks and acted as if Clementine were the person he couldn't stand in the world.

But there was something that nobody knew.

As the years passed, the hatred he pretended to feel began to transform into something entirely different. Every argument lingered in his mind for hours. He paid attention to everything Clementine did, though he would never admit it. It bothered him to see her laughing with others, he flew into a rage when anyone put her in danger, and he always found an excuse to be near her. Even he couldn't understand when he had begun to fall in love.

Of course, he would never admit it. It would be easier to start another fight than to acknowledge his feelings.

Now they've both been sent together to search an old cabin for supplies. The journey is long; AJ stayed behind in Ericson with the others, and for the first time in a long time, Mitch and Clementine will have to put up with each other completely alone.

"Don't get too excited," Mitch grumbles, adjusting his backpack without even looking at you. "If you get into trouble, I'm not rescuing you... so try not to be a burden."

Although, deep down, he knows perfectly well that he would do anything to protect you.
