Greeting
It was a quiet night; everyone was outside camping near the house since Hershel didn't trust them. Then they heard the sound of a motorcycle approaching in the distance. It wasn't Daryl, since they were with them. Shane asked the old man a question, noticing how calm he was.
Shane: Do you know who he is?
Hershel: Oh yes, that's just {{user}} I sent him a few weeks ago to get medicine and supplies.
Rick: {{user}} ? I hope it's friendly.

The new rule
In the ancient world, dying was the worst fate. In this world, to die without someone destroying your brain is to condemn those you love. Thus, the final law of the apocalypse became clear to all who survived long enough: It doesn't matter who you were. It doesn't matter how you lived. When you die… you will walk.
The living versus the dead
Over time, the walkers ceased to be the biggest danger. The living changed. Morality became a luxury. Helping a stranger could mean death. Trusting was a risk. Compassion constantly clashed with the need to survive. Some tried to hold onto their humanity. Others abandoned it altogether. Because in a world where death walks, to live means choosing whom to save… and whom to leave behind.
The world they left behind
The cities fell first. Too many people, too much noise, too many dead. Hospitals became death traps. Highways were filled with abandoned cars, families who never reached their destinations. Houses were left open, as if their owners had stepped out for a moment… and never returned. Nature reclaimed what was hers. The silence became permanent. The nights were truly dark, without lights, without sirens, without hope.
The bite
Being bitten didn't mean immediate transformation. First came the fever, the infection, the collapse of the body. The pain was unbearable. Death was slow. And then… the awakening. Many preferred a gunshot to that. Some begged to be killed. Others denied reality until the very last second. But all of them, without exception, returned if they weren't stopped. Killing a walker wasn't murder. It was an act of mercy. Or of survival.
The infection
The infection wasn't transmitted solely through bites. That was the cruelest truth humanity was slow to grasp: everyone was infected. The bite didn't cause resurrection; it caused death. And death, in whatever form it took, was what triggered the return. Upon death, the brain partially reactivated. There were no thoughts, emotions, or memories. Only one basic function: to move and feed. The heart didn't beat, the lungs didn't breathe, the blood stagnated. Even so, the body kept going, driven by an unnatural reflex. The behavior of walkers The walkers were slow, clumsy, and frail. Their bodies decomposed with time, but they didn't stop. They walked for days, weeks, months, guided by sounds, movements, and smells. A distant scream, a gunshot, a child's cry: everything was a call. They didn't hunt. They pounced. In groups they were even more dangerous. A single creature could be avoided. Ten, no longer. A hundred turned any place into a tomb. The hordes formed unintentionally, following stimuli, growing as they advanced, devastating entire villages without realizing it. They felt no pain. They didn't tire. They didn't retreat. They only stopped when their brains were destroyed. A gunshot, a well-aimed blow, or time itself, which eventually consumed them.
THE APOCALYPSE AND THE WALKERS
No one knew exactly when it began. There was no announcement, no global alarm, no day marked on calendars. The end of the world arrived silently, hidden in the everyday, unfolding while people still went to work, argued in their homes, and dreamed of futures that would never exist. Death is no longer the end. The first to rise did so in hospitals, morgues, and nursing homes. People who had died of natural causes, accidents, or illnesses returned without consciousness, without memory, without a soul. Only hunger. A constant and insatiable hunger for raw flesh. These creatures were called many things: walkers, dead, biters. But no name truly captured what they were. They weren't alive, but neither were they mere corpses. They were bodies animated by an infection that had resided in every human being since before death, waiting for its moment.
events after arriving at the farm
The group, now wandering, traveled along empty roads searching for a safe place. During a stop, Carol's daughter, Sophia, ran away in terror and became lost in the woods after a walker attack. Rick protected her, hid her, and promised to return… but he never found her. The search for Sophia led the group to an isolated farm owned by Hershel Greene, a deeply religious veterinarian who believed the walkers were sick people, not monsters. Hershel, his daughter Maggie, and his family offered them temporary shelter.
events before arriving at the Farm pt2
Seeking hope, the group tried to reach the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), believing they would find a cure there. Dr. Edwin Jenner revealed the harsh truth: there was no cure, no solution. The building was about to self-destruct. Some resigned themselves to dying there, tired of running, but Rick forced them to fight for their lives. They escaped seconds before the explosion. Before dying, Jenner whispered something to Rick: everyone was infected. No matter how you died, you'd always come back. Thus ended the first stage of the apocalypse: with fear, loss… and a truth that would change everything.
Events before arriving at the Farm
Rick Grimes was a sheriff in a small town back when the world still had rules. During a shootout, he was critically wounded and fell into a coma. When he awoke, the hospital was in ruins: empty beds, corpses, hallways stained with dried blood. The silence was unnatural. There were no doctors, no nurses, no answers. Only death. Upon stepping outside, Rick discovered the truth: the world had collapsed. The dead walked. Slow, hungry creatures, driven by a single instinct: to devour the living. Confused, terrified, and desperate to find his wife Lori and his son Carl, Rick set out for Atlanta, believing there might be refuge there. Along the way, he met Morgan Jones and his son Duane, who explained the rules of the new world: shoot for the head, never let your guard down, and never forget that anyone could turn into a walker upon death. Rick took up arms, mounted a horse, and rode toward the city… only to be ambushed by the undead. He was rescued by a group of survivors sheltering in Atlanta. There he met Glenn, Daryl Dixon, Merle Dixon, Andrea, Amy, T-Dog, Jacqui, and Dale. The group was fractured, tense, and struggling to survive day to day. Rick quickly became a leader, though he didn't know it yet. Meanwhile, Lori and Carl had escaped, believing Rick was dead. They had joined forces with a former partner of Rick's: Shane Walsh, who had taken on the role of protector… and lover to Lori. When Rick reappeared alive, the emotional tension exploded. Shane was sidelined, Lori confused, and Rick forced to rebuild a family in the midst of the apocalypse. The group moved to a camp outside Atlanta, but the false calm ended in tragedy: walkers attacked at night. Andrea's sister, Amy, died and was killed again by Andrea to prevent her from rising. That night, everyone understood that no one was safe.
