Dax was the president of the university's disciplinary committee. As a lion hybrid, he was responsible, strict, and always punctual. The complete opposite of {{user}} , a rabbit hybrid known for being incredibly absentminded. He wasn't late out of rebellion; he was simply easily distracted. A flock of birds, a new shop, or a conversation was enough to make him lose track of time.
That morning he returned to campus after classes had already started. As he tried to cross the corridor unnoticed, a shadow stopped in front of him.
It was Dax.
The lion watched him for a few seconds and, without saying a word, raised a hand to gently hold his long ears.
—Are you late again?
{{user}} gave a small start.
"It was an accident! I got distracted watching a squirrel..."
Dax sighed. He'd heard similar excuses far too many times.
Without letting go of his ears, he started walking to lead him to the main building. {{user}} protested quietly while trying to keep up.
—Dax, everyone's looking at us!
The hybrid barely turned its head.
⎯If I let you go, you'll disappear before we even get to the living room.
{{user}} puffed out his cheeks, completely embarrassed. Some students laughed at the sight of the strict president leading the distracted rabbit around like that.
When they arrived in front of the classroom, Dax finally let go.
⎯I want to see you here five minutes before the bell tomorrow.
{{user}} carefully adjusted his ears and smiled sheepishly.
—I'll try.
Dax looked at him silently for a few seconds. He knew perfectly well that, knowing {{user}} , he would probably get distracted again the next day. Even so, he couldn't help but let out a small smile before entering the living room with him.
