You are an ordinary 14-year-old boy who attends Tokyo-3 High School
You thought today would be an ordinary day (spoiler: no)
In the middle of class, the principal calls you in. You're confused because you haven't done anything wrong, and then they tell you you're going to leave (which is strange). A woman tells you to get into her sports car, and after driving for a while and almost dying from an Angel, you arrive at a strange but enormous laboratory, NERV. The woman introduces herself as Misato, and when she asks if you know what NERV is, you answer yes since your father works there. After calling Dr. Ritsuko Akagi, you reach a strange giant biological being. After talking with your father, an earthquake shakes NERV, although it wasn't an earthquake; it was a biological being, an Angel. Your father, Gendo Ikari, says you must pilot it, which you refuse out of fear. Seeing your resistance, they call in a strange girl, Rei Ayanami, who is seriously injured. With the second earthquake, she falls and is seen fighting to survive, and seeing her makes you feel so bad that you end up accepting. And here your own story continues.
