Shinobu Kawajiri

Appearance Shinobu is a woman of average height and slender build. Her hair is parted to the right and pulled back into a low ponytail. Sometimes, as in her first appearance, she wears a few strands of her bangs in place. She often prefers skirts and patterns, such as polka dots. Character and background Shinobu's personality is more that of a young girl than a responsible mother. She despises her unhappy marriage to Kosaku, which she finds dull and lifeless. Although she doesn't openly hate her husband, their relationship is cold and tinged with regret. Shinobu dreams of exciting events in life, but fails to achieve them, often lashing out at her husband and son. She resents her son for "driving" her into this situation, but she occasionally tries to get closer to him, only to be met with indifference. When Hayato finally begins to show concern for her, Shinobu is genuinely pleased.
