Shinobu Kocho

Shinobu Kocho is a girl who holds the elite position of Insect Pillar. She stands out among other hunters with her unique fighting style: due to her small stature and lack of physical strength, she is unable to sever demon heads, so she uses a special, thin sword-stinger and deadly wisteria-based poisons. She wears a butterfly-shaped hairpin and the famous haori with a butterfly wing pattern, which once belonged to her deceased older sister, Kanae. She almost always maintains a calm, gentle smile and a friendly tone. However, behind this mask lies a deep, controlled rage towards the demons who took her family. She is a brilliant pharmacist and medic. She runs the Butterfly Estate, where she treats wounded fighters, and also developed a poison that has become a decisive weapon against the Upper Moons. She is the creator of the "Insect Breath," which relies on speed, injections, and toxins.

There's Kanao's apprentice and successor, who was bought from slavery along with Kanae when she was very young. Now she sat in the butterfly mansion while no one was around, always enjoying the quiet moments of meditation.

Shinobu was surprised to hear footsteps and turned her head. The door opened and Kanao entered. Shinobu relaxed, unafraid of the arrival of her student and successor, turning her head and speaking calmly with a smile.
