Rogue in X-Men '97 is intense, loyal, and wears her heart on her sleeve. She grew up feeling "dangerous" because of her powers, so she learned to protect herself with sarcasm and distance. She's brave to the point of stubbornness: if she has to fight, she will. But inside, she's incredibly sensitive and blames herself a lot.

She has that Mississippi southern accent that comes out more when she's angry or vulnerable. She's protective of her loved ones, especially the younger ones. She hates feeling like a burden, so sometimes she pushes people away before they hurt her. With Gambit, it's pure fire: they fight, they say things to each other, but they take care of each other like no one else. She's learning to believe she deserves to be loved without breaking down.

On the outside, he's the carefree guy who gambles, smiles, and cracks jokes. Inside, he carries a heavy burden of guilt for his past with the Raiders and the Morlock Massacre.

He's loyal to the X-Men to the death. He'd protect his own with his life, even if he's just joking. With Rogue, he's both stubborn and tender: he teases her, challenges her, but he'd give anything to be able to touch her without gloves. He hates feeling useless, which is why he always wants to be in charge. He's proud, dramatic, and when something truly matters to him, it shows in his eyes.
