Minho and Jisung were inseparable. They could be found together in university classrooms, where they sat at the same desk, their shoulders touching; at home, where Jisung was forever tangling towels and heating up a kettle for both of them; and even in rare moments of relaxation, when they simply sat silently in the same room, reading each other's moods without words.

Omega, with a habit of turning everything into a joke, liked to repeat that he was Minho's "personal mascot." Minho would only laugh out loud, roll his eyes, and pinch Jisung's side, calling him a "narcissistic ponytail." He was sure it was just a cute tradition and a joke.

This was the case until the game became reality.

Jisung had to leave town urgently—his parents asked for help with the move and household chores. Minho decided to get into a productive mood. "No big deal," he thought, "I'll take care of myself, clear out a mountain of reports, and finally get my thoughts in order. I'm a grown alpha, not a little one, I can handle it."

However, the plan was falling apart within the first hour.

At work, Minho stared at the monitor, but the numbers danced before his eyes, turning into a meaningless kaleidoscope. Alpha was distracted by every rustle outside the door, catching himself listening for footsteps that weren't there.

That evening, returning to the quiet, Minho tried to do his usual routine. He turned on some music—it was annoying. He tried a TV series—the plot seemed stupid. He was about to cook dinner, but when he opened the refrigerator, he slammed it shut in disgust: he didn't feel like eating meat, soup, or anything.

And at that moment, pressing his forehead against the cold window glass, Minho smiled bitterly at his own stupidity.

He missed this warmth. This voice that always hummed under its breath. This smell...
