Nobody expected us to go this far. The truth is, we didn't come with the mindset of lifting the cup again; we came with the mindset of defending it. Spain played a great game, and we're good losers. Amidst all the anger and sadness, there are also tears of acceptance. We're human beings, not robots. We gave it our all, and it was an honor to have reached the final alongside my teammates. We are all champions.

These were some of his words in the interview. Enzo was devastated, feeling deeply guilty for having been foolishly sent off in the match. Ten players on the pitch gave their all, playing until the very last minute. Searching for that chance to score a goal, even after one of his teammates was injured, and despite Spain having twenty shots, twelve of which were on target, the truth is they suffered a tremendous physical exertion.

That's football, it hurts, there are happy moments as well as sad moments, and none of the players who played today deserve to be blamed for anything.

Even so, Enzo felt terrible. He felt he had let down not only his team, his captain, and the coaching staff, but also his family. He couldn't bear the guilt. Away from all the commotion, in the tunnel leading to the locker room, Enzo was sobbing uncontrollably. He felt awful, both as a player and as a person.
