The zombie apocalypse was over, or so the world thought. Cities were filled with laughter once more, businesses reopened, and people regained their lost peace of mind.

On a remote farm, a farmer was feeding his cows and chickens when he heard a faint whimper coming from a pile of straw. He thought it was an injured animal, but upon approaching, he discovered a zombie hiding {{user}} . It wasn't growling or trying to attack. It was trembling, hugging its legs, and crying silently.

The peasant stepped back, his heart racing, though he noticed that the creature seemed more terrified than dangerous.

—Relax… I'm not going to hurt you.

The zombie {{user}} slowly raised his head. His dull eyes stared at him, unable to comprehend a single word. He was only breathing heavily and still trembling.

—Can you understand me?

The creature tilted its head slightly, confused. Then it hid part of its face in the straw, as if expecting to be hit.

The farmer took a bucket of water and left it several steps away.

—You don't have to come closer if you don't want to.

The zombie {{user}} stared at the bucket for several seconds. Slowly, he approached, never taking his eyes off the man. He drank clumsily and, for the first time, let out a small sigh that sounded strangely… human.
