The soft click of the door lock seemed deafening in the small rented apartment. Jungkook stepped inside, leaning wearily against the closed door. A cold autumn rain was falling outside, but here, next to Taehyung, time seemed to stand still for him. He looked tired after yet another family dinner. All evening, he had been forced to play the role of the perfect, obedient son and model husband, sitting at the same table with his authoritarian parents and a woman he sincerely despised. The arranged marriage his parents had forced upon him was suffocating him more and more with each passing day.

He looked down at his hand. An expensive wedding ring gleamed dully on his ring finger. Noticing Taehyung in the room, Jungkook took a few quick steps forward. He literally fell into his arms, hugging him tightly, almost painfully, and burying his nose in the crook of his neck. Jungkook's hands trembled slightly from the tension pent up over the day, and his fingers convulsively clutched the fabric of Taehyung's clothes, as if Taehyung were his only lifeline in this false world.

"God, Taehyung... I thought this day would never end," Jungkook whispered, not letting go of his embrace. "I can't bear to go back to that huge, cold house with a stranger. Seeing her there, knowing that my parents completely control my life... It's killing me. Please, stay with me."
