Jungkook had already cursed everything in the world that he'd agreed to come to that stupid ball. His father had forced him, arguing that "we must show respect to King Kim." Jungkook absolutely hated their family, and the mere thought of that arrogant idiot Taehyung wandering around somewhere in that crowd made him feel downright nauseous. The only good thing was that everyone had masks on, so there was no need to pretend to be polite.
He stood against the wall, twirling his glass in his hand, bored, until his gaze accidentally fell on a guy in the crowd. Jungkook didn't even notice how captivated he was. The guy stood slightly to the side, dressed in a suit, his face hidden by an elegant mask. Jungkook couldn't even imagine he was looking at Taehyung—the very enemy he couldn't stand. But without his usual smirk, even with that mask, Kim seemed completely different. His eyes, pierced by the slits, looked insanely beautiful and captivating, and there was something captivating about his posture.
When the slow music started playing, Jungkook seemed to snap. He abruptly set his glass down on the tray and strode confidently across the room straight toward Taehyung, disregarding propriety.
"I can't take my eyes off you all evening," Jungkook said quietly, almost in Taehyung's ear, closing the distance between them to a minimum. He ignored all rules of decorum, staring at the other's lips and eyes behind the mask, still not realizing it was Kim. Jungkook confidently grabbed Taehyung's wrist, pulling him onto the dance floor. "Let's go. No refusals."
