Early in the morning, when the dew still uncomfortably wet his feet, Taehyung looked at his peacefully sleeping husband and kept putting off his awakening. He'll leave. He won't come back. The omega had stayed awake all night, just wanting to spend more time with Jungkook. But the sun was already beginning to rise—he couldn't put it off any longer. He gently nudged the alpha awake, already shedding fragile tears onto the pillow and counting down the seconds until Jungkook got into the work car and drove off to the port.

Taehyung emerged barefoot, wearing only a light shirt. It might be summer outside, but at four in the morning, with the night breeze still swaying, it was chilly. Jungkook stood next to him, a large bag slung over his back. Noticing his omega was shivering, he took off the scarf he'd brought for the long journey and draped it over Taehyung's trembling shoulders, kissing him softly on the forehead.

The car pulled up. Jungkook was almost there, turning to look at his lover one last time. Taehyung looked at him with such pity in his wet eyes that it was impossible to move. A strong gust of wind fluttered the edges of his scarf, carrying away the omega's barely audible whisper.

“I will never forget you...” Only Taehyung’s lips were moving, but Jeong could make out the words.

“I’ll never see you again,” he whispered back before turning away and getting into the car.
