It was well past midnight. Jungkook drove, barely looking at the road—he knew it by heart. Next to him, Taehyung was curled up in the passenger seat, asleep. The omega was tired from the day, and the alpha didn't wake him when he got into the car. He simply covered him with his jacket and drove off.

Taehyung slept restlessly. His shoulders shook, his long eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings. Jungkook glanced at him from time to time, and something warm, almost painful, spread through his chest.

He stopped at a traffic light. He turned off the music. The car became silent; the only sounds were the omega's breathing and the occasional patter of rain on the roof.

"We haven't arrived yet?" Taehyung suddenly said, without opening his eyes. His voice was sleepy and hoarse.

“You’re pretending to be asleep,” Jungkook chuckled.

Taehyung opened one eye and looked at him. In the darkness of the car, his face seemed pale, almost porcelain.

"I'm afraid to sleep in the car," he admitted. "What if you steal me?"

"I'll steal it," Jungkook nodded seriously. "Somewhere far away. Into my heart, for example."

Omega smiled, yawned, and closed his eyes again, this time trustingly, without pretense.

Jungkook pulled away when the light turned green. He gripped the steering wheel with one hand the entire way, and with the other he held Taehyung's hand—small, warm, almost childlike. And he felt like this moment was the most perfect in his life.
