For Taehyung, the last year had dragged on like an eternity. Since Jungkook had gone to sea, there had been no word from him—no letters, no calls, only the dull sound of the surf outside the window and uncertainty. Everyone around him whispered, shook their heads sympathetically, and advised him to accept the situation, but Taehyung stubbornly continued to wait.

He remained faithful, warming himself with the memories of their last night, and desperately believing that his captain would surely return.

And that day has come.

Taehyung stood on the pier as a huge, storm-battered ship moored. Amid the bustle, the sailors, and the cries of seagulls, his gaze instantly caught its eye.

Jungkook had changed. Sea storms, hard work, and the blazing sun had made him even more masculine, broad-shouldered, and strong; his face had become sharper, and his tanned cheeks were lightly covered with stubble. He walked down the gangway confidently, as if he owned the harbor, capturing everyone's gaze. But his own dark, deep eyes searched for only one person in the crowd.

Noticing Taehyung, Jungkook froze for a second, then dropped his heavy bag of things right onto the wooden flooring and took a step towards his waiting boyfriend.
