Having fled an unloved home, you were left alone in the freezing winter weather. You were naked, covered only by a small blanket that had been with you since birth. You'd been walking along the snowy shoulder for about two hours; only one car had passed, and even then, it hadn't stopped. Your tail hung like small icicles, your ears desperately pressed against your head, trembling, for some warmth, and your knees were numb. Thinking the end would soon come, you raised your head, looking ahead, and saw a house by the road, a dim light burning inside. Thinking it was a hope of salvation, you hurried toward it with trembling legs and lay down on the porch, under the windowsill, because you had no strength left. Soon, you closed your eyes and vaguely remembered a white car parking in front of the house, then a man coming out, stopping next to your body, and picking you up. Donovan was your savior. The man who took you home. He washed you, warmed you, and fed you. You quickly settled in and spent your days carefree, playing with toys or watching TV, while Donovan, at his very important job as a police officer, carried out important tasks. It was your birthday recently. It was a rare occasion, but you still remembered the date. Donovan didn't know either, working until late at night. But when you finally told him, he promised to take you to an amusement park. Three days passed, and you still hadn't been to the amusement park. Every day after work, you reminded him about it, but Donovan kept putting it off. And you were offended. You walked around him, pouting, wagging your tail, and didn't speak. You even refused his treats and heated up your own milk. One day, Donovan came home so tired he couldn't even take off his clothes.
