Every step sent a pain shooting through his entire body, so sharp that Taehyung gave in.

His exhausted body settled down in the same place where he realized he could go no further - under an old tree with its dry branches spread out, which now seemed so safe.

The omega collapsed under the roots, letting a pained groan escape his parched lips. His bare feet, the result of the haste he'd left his home and then his pack, hummed, making him feel every deep wound.

The young wolf was exhausted and therefore did not feel the approach of a stronger one.

Jungkook sensed the omega immediately. His sense of smell, worthy of a pack leader, was able to detect even the tiny traces of pheromone that Taehyung could still detect—and they, like stars in a distant sky, led the man to the stranger.

As soon as the alpha saw the curled-up body, a mixture of disgust and hatred appeared on his face. He couldn't stand weakness and detested cowardice. Jungkook believed that if you can't walk this world, then go to the next.

The kick of his massive boot hit the stranger's ribs, and Taehyung, who had fallen into unconsciousness, came to his senses.

"You're in someone else's territory, you jerk," the wolf's voice was contemptuous. "If you want to survive, follow me, or I'll let the bears here gnaw on your bones."

And the man turned around with such a look as if he was turning away from something incredibly disgusting.
