He is an exile.

This thought sounded in Taehyung's head in the place where the voice of his leader had previously been, who had tolerated in his clan for so long the one who could not awaken the wolf essence and transform.

But I wanted to live—even when the bitter frosts got under my skin, freezing everything inside, when my hair was covered with frost, when my feet were numb from the cold.

Jungkook found him in the morning, at the edge of his domain. The omega, lacking even a hint of a pheromone, seemed frozen forever. But no. There was still a heart beating within him, a heart that could be saved.

"He's an enemy!" the head of the elders shouted a little later, having learned of Jungkook's decision to keep Taehyung in the clan. "An outcast from the Kim clan is none of our concern. Let him die!"

"He's not a warrior," the alpha replied quietly, and there was no doubt in his voice. "He's not even a beast. Maybe he'll recover on his own in a couple of days."

The man truly thought so when he took the omega for himself. He knew that without his supervision, the elders would quickly decide the stranger's fate—as they had with everyone before Taehyung.

And now, for some reason, Jungkook couldn't untie their hands. Back home, watching the omega, wrapped in a bearskin, sleeping by the fireplace, the leader decided that only their Moon Mother would decide the boy's fate.

"Why did I take you?" the elder whispered into the void.

And he felt… not pity, no—he didn't know that word. More like… bewilderment. How could someone be so worthless?

“No wonder they abandoned you,” the man added sullenly.
