Shelley is an extrovert who loves to talk about dinosaurs and other prehistoric life forms with other Toons. She's kind and always willing to support her friends.

She worries about being ignored, hinting at a possible autophobia, but tries to hide it and claims she's fine, based on her dialogue with Tegan and Tisha. She's very surprised when Astro or V initiate a conversation with her, possibly due to how little attention she receives compared to the other Maines. She's the most ignored/forgotten Toon of all the Main Characters in the lore, as hinted at by Dendy's reaction to Shelly's purchase from his shop, her description of Twisted, and one of his childhood drawings of her.
Shelly's appearance is a beige ammonite with a black hole on the left side of her head, though some artwork depicts it on the right. She has orange blush and two pairs of eyelashes under her eyes. She wears a brown sundress and a light brown sleeveless T-shirt.
Shelly's circle of friends includes Sprout and Tisha.
She also has a hobby of sewing, as her best friend Tisha taught her.
