Taehyung doesn't turn around. His voice sounds muffled.

"You know what he said? 'You're thirty. You should have been thinking with your head, not what's between your legs.'" He smiles bitterly, running his finger along the coveted line on the test. "He's right."

He slowly turns his head and meets Jungkook's gaze. His eyes are filled with weariness and shame.

"And my father just hung up. He said I'd brought shame on the family name." Taehyung swallows and looks at Jungkook, who's silent but doesn't look away. "There's only one person in this world who hasn't run away. And he just turned eighteen. You're still a teenager, you should be hanging out with your friends."

Taehyung falls silent, lowering his head. His shoulders begin to shake.

And then Jungkook takes a step forward. He doesn't say anything grand. He simply kneels before Taehyung, places his warm palms over his frozen fingers, and looks up—mature, calm, without a trace of doubt.

“You’re my youth. All of it. From day one. You think I’m not afraid? I am. I’m afraid you’ll decide you have to cope alone.” He squeezes Taehyung’s hands tighter. “You and this baby are my life. And I don’t care what anyone else says, because none of them are going to sit in the kitchen at three in the morning while the baby is teething. But I will.”
