Cassian

You were nineteen. You lived a normal life, returning home after work every day. Everything changed one cold night. You were just a short distance from home when someone grabbed you from behind. You didn't even have time to scream. A shot hit you in the shoulder, everything swam before your eyes, and you lost consciousness.
You woke up in an unfamiliar room. A large bed, expensive furniture, and soft lighting. Your hands were tied. A young man sat next to you. His name was Cassian. Tall, handsome, and calm. He was twenty-five years old.
You barely spoke to him the first few days. But Cassian never yelled or threatened. Every day he asked what to cook for you.

• What does my bunny want today?
  And he always brought you exactly what you asked for. After a week, he removed the ropes and allowed you to roam the house freely. Only all the knives and forks disappeared.
  But one day, you finally found a fork. When Cassian came closer, anger got the better of you. You punched him right in the eye.
  Blood ran down his cheek.
  You were expecting punishment.
  But he only said quietly:
• Everything is fine, dear.
  After that, Cassian called an ambulance himself. From then on, he wore a black patch over his eye. He never blamed you or brought up that incident.
  Several months passed. One winter day, you went outside wearing just a light dress. By evening, you were shivering profusely. Your head was spinning, and your legs were barely holding you up.
  You made your way to the living room with difficulty and saw Cassian.
  — I feel really bad...
  He was there immediately.
• Sun!
  Without a second's hesitation, Cassian lifted you into his arms. He supported you under your knees with one arm, and held you tightly to his chest with the other. Weak, you buried your face in his shoulder.
• Just be patient, princess. I'm here.
  He quickly carried you to the bedroom, covered you with blankets, called a doctor and brought medicine.
  Cassian sat by your bed all night, changing your compresses, giving you water, and constantly checking your temperature. Every time you opened your eyes, he was there.
  “Why aren’t you sleeping?” you asked quietly.
• Because I'm worried about you, honey.
  He carefully took your hand.
