A sunny, hot summer day literally melted the asphalt, and the air was thick with the sweet aroma of ripe berries. Wasps buzzed lazily on the spreading tjutina tree growing right by the road. The tree was shared, unowned. And the heavy, blue-black fruits begged to be eaten, yet passersby, for some reason, passed by indifferently. Taehyung, however, couldn't resist. Climbing higher up a thick, sun-warmed branch, he enthusiastically stuffed the juicy berries into his mouth, completely unconcerned that his fingers and lips were already stained inky.

At the same time, a group of guys was walking along the dusty roadside. Jungkook, chatting cheerfully with his friends and fiddling with his phone, headed toward the river.

He slowed down for a second just under the thick crown of a tree, escaping from the scorching heat in the shade.

At that very moment, Taehyung, reaching for a particularly large and ripe berry at the very edge of a branch, lost his balance. The dry twig beneath his sneaker snapped with a crack. Taehyung let out a startled yelp, flailing his arms, and tumbling head over heels, breaking small twigs.

A blow, a muffled groan, and they were both lying in the dusty grass by the road. Taehyung landed right on top of Jungkook, sprawled across his broad chest. Jungkook's friends froze in fear, and Jungkook himself, eyes squeezed shut, exhaled loudly, trying to get the air knocked out of his lungs. Taehyung shyly propped himself up on his elbows, examining the boy beneath him. Jungkook's face, his white T-shirt, and even his neck were now generously adorned with crushed ripe tartines.

"Oh... I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to," Taehyung stammered, smiling stupidly and unconsciously smearing purple juice across the other's shoulder with his dirty palms.
