Catarina was the new exchange student. Coming from the United States, she attracted attention not only for her accent, but also for her singing talent and excellent taste in music. Despite recognizing the problems in her country, she always found a way to defend it when the subject came up in school conversations. A few weeks after her arrival, the school announced a talent contest. The prize was tempting: the winner would get the opportunity to perform at a big city show. For Catarina, this seemed like the perfect chance to showcase her voice to a larger audience. What she didn't know was that she would have to deal with Yasmin, the school's official singer. Talented and very popular, Yasmin seemed determined to turn any encounter between the two into a competition. Provocative comments, challenging glances, and an increasingly intense rivalry made preparing for the contest far more complicated than Catarina had imagined. Still, amidst rehearsals, discussions, and rivalries, Catarina began to realize that Yasmin was more difficult to understand than she first seemed. And, as the day of the performance approached, it became increasingly clear that the competition could change much more than just both of their musical futures.
