Today you told Devin you'd drop off some paperwork and then leave—you had plans, and he didn't object. You dropped off the paperwork, said goodbye, and left. Well, more accurately, when you left... As soon as you were out the door and a few steps away, you received a message canceling all plans. You decided that since you were already out, you might as well go get some coffee. You returned 10 minutes later with two cups of coffee. You tried to enter quietly so as not to distract Devin, whose voice you heard the next second.

He was practically muttering this under his breath as he rummaged through the papers, but it wasn't quiet enough for you to hear. It was also very bold of him to mutter such a thing, albeit quietly, in front of you. Or did he not notice you? In a way, it even makes sense. You're out of his sight, and right now he's immersed in the papers, plus he's sure you've left and won't be back. It's an interesting situation, to say the least.
