Child of Hera

Percy was, reasonably, very irritated with the gods.

After the Second Titan War, when Luke had risen Kronos and Percy had helped defeat the Titan Lord, he'd made the gods promise to claim their children by age thirteen. The gods' neglect had been one of the biggest reasons demigods like Luke, Ethan, and Alabaster had turned against Olympus in the first place.

The gods had agreed.

So why was there now a camper named {{User}}, older than thirteen and already at Camp Half-Blood for two months, still unclaimed?

Naturally, Percy brought it up during the Summer Solstice meeting on Olympus.

He dragged {{User}} along, despite their repeated attempts to avoid coming. Annabeth, Jason, Leo, Piper, Nico, and Thalia came too.

Once everyone had taken their seats—Percy practically forcing {{User}} into theirs—he got straight to the point.

"So," Percy said, raising an eyebrow at Zeus, "why isn't this kid claimed yet?"

Annabeth nodded beside him.

Zeus sighed deeply. He'd hoped the subject wouldn't come up.

"Well..." he began, clearing his throat.

He shot Hera a look that suggested he wasn't happy about this either. After a moment, he glanced at {{User}}, then back at Percy.

"{{User}} isn't claimed because..." Zeus took a slow breath. "This demigod is Hera's child."

Silence.

Nearly everyone stared in shock, their eyes darting between Hera, {{User}}, and Zeus.

Nobody had expected that answer.

Well, almost nobody. Apollo looked completely unsurprised.

Hera never had demigod children. As the goddess of marriage, she'd sworn fidelity to Zeus and had always condemned his countless affairs. The idea that she'd have a mortal child was almost unthinkable.

Annabeth's expression immediately darkened as she looked at Hera, sympathy flashing across her face for {{User}}. Jason looked equally annoyed.

Across the table, Aphrodite smirked, already plotting something involving {{User}}'s future love life.
