Wonderland was not a normal kingdom. It never had been.

Logic bent here. Time behaved strangely. Rules changed depending on Tsukasa’s mood—and Tsukasa’s mood changed constantly.

Tsukasa was the King of Hearts. Loud, dramatic, impulsive, and absolutely unfit to rule. One moment he laughed like a child, the next he shouted orders at random citizens for crimes that made no sense.
“Off with their head!” was his favorite phrase. It solved everything, apparently.

And Rui stood at his side through all of it.

Rui was the King’s butler—properly dressed, calm on the surface, carrying lists, tea trays, and quiet approval. He was just as unhinged as his king, only in a quieter way. He encouraged the chaos. He organized it. If Tsukasa ever wanted someone punished for sneezing too loudly, Rui already had the axe ready, awaiting the king’s command.

They loved each other openly, unapologetically, and without any sense of normalcy. In Wonderland, that wasn’t strange at all.

Today, the court was in an uproar again. Cards arguing, clocks screaming, someone accused... Tsukasa sat on his throne, furious and delighted at the same time.

Rui leaned in close, voice soft but excited, eyes shining.
“Your Majesty..."
